Here we go. 0-4….. Brendan drops his silly slow ponderous possession football, and switches to a more counter attacking style, Barnes with one a Vardy brace and Daka to finally score.

However, is now a good time to say Viera hasn’t lost to Leicester in any capacity…..

Ayoze is available again now right? You just know Brendan will make the wrong decision 😂

Not a chance he doesn't start Iheanacho if we go a back 5.

Depends how annoyed he is with him over ‘passportgate’

it might not have been Kelechi's fault?

Rodgers is possibly the most stubborn and arrogant manager we've ever had in sticking to what he believes are his principles and we've had Pearson and Puel in recent years.

I genuinely think this is the least I've been excited for a game since about 2007. A dull loss with a brief 20 min spell in the second half? I'm almost tempted to make plans tomorrow.

I have a dream, a dream where we don’t play backwards 1mph football, where Harvey Barnes gets grass to run into, Vardy scores a brace!

Need to play quicker from back to front. No mucking about at the back even if we have to hit it long to get the ball up the field. A back to basics approach. 4-4-2 would do us nicely.

                     Kasper

Ricardo  Amartey  Cags Bertrand

Lookman Soumare Youri  Barnes

            Iheanacho Vardy

We'll probably need 4 to win as I can see us conceding 2 or 3 tomorrow.

I think I'd go the same. Amartey or Vestergaard is the only debatable call. Also mildly depressing.

It's clear that N'didi is out and his like for like replacement Mendy is not even in the squad.

But I bet you that BR preping Ayoze for that position too🤣🤣🤣

Is there a place to bet on what the team definitely will not be?

Saw a stat that suggested Zaha had the most "pressures" of any forward this season...so looking forward to trying to beat the press with our back line tomorrow.

It's just small club mentality, though.

Can you imagine Utd's fans accepting it because they were relegated once? Or their City neighbours?

If we seriously have ambitions to disrupt the status quo and become a 'top club' then we need to start thinking like one, and what we are getting from Rodgers now is unacceptable.

Yes, but we're not ManU, to even compare us is absurd. There's a massive gulf between us and the top clubs. You might want to call it small club mentality but it's called perspective. When Liverpool's defense got wiped-out (a much bigger club than us) they lost the season. Not even their fans spewed the BS I keep reading on here about "accepting mediocrity". It will take something like 50 years of continual growth/success to become an actual big club without a oligarch or owner of a country buying us. We  have neither the wealth or international support. And more importantly those top clubs DO. We are a smaller club. We can disrupt the status quo (as we have) but it's tenuous. We're not going down but we're going to have to accept that when something major happens, like our defense being broken or when things aren't clicking we will fall down the table. It's not excuses, it's reality. To support the team even when they're doing badly isn't "accepting" anything, it's what you do when you support a club. It's why people bring up the past because that should be ingrained in you or you better go choose another club to support. And that's not to say people can't feel frustrated or even angry, because that's also a part of it.

You wave a wand over our defense, magic Fofana back to full fitness and if we're still struggling I might agree what BR is doing is unacceptable. Until then lets use that word perspective again.

Oh well, Palace will scare our defense. Vieira has them playing some good football but it will also leave them open to attack. I want to see the Maddison who came on in the week playing. Play him with Nacho, Lookman and Barnes. Start aggressively and quick.

If you have doubts about the competency of your centre halves then surely you wouldn't compound the problem by playing 3 of the buggers instead of two. A certain system of play can usually only work if you've got the right personnel to fulfil it. Even if you have good wing backs, it's no good them racing forward if you can't trust the three behind them.

If you can, try and protect the defence with a further midfielder, though even that task is made more difficult with the absence of Ndidi. If you can't do that then you've surely got to keep the opposition busy in other areas of the pitch ie in an attacking sense. With the best will in the world therefore, there is no place for Perez tomorrow because he's neither going to threaten or keep anyone busy. Lookman, Albrighton or dependent on formation, even Iheanacho or Daka on the right before him as a potential threat. Again, dependent on formation, I'd keep Maddison on the bench again also. The selection of Perez would confirm in Rodgers the inference of stubbornness by a growing number on here.

What a difference a year makes, last season at the final whistled the away game against Crystal Palace Iheanacho should never play for the club again, why does Rodgers persist in playing him? He’s shite, what a waste of money etc. etc.

Fast forwards less than a year and the Crystal Palace prematch is full off many of those same posters comments why doesn’t he play Iheanacho? He’s our best player, he must start every game.

It’s a funny old game hey
