Something I need to get off my chest. Watching our players in so called training videos which includes jogging around cones, swinging opposite legs, playing piggy in the middle etc, etc or standing around.joking.

Where are the shots of players bending forward with hands on knees coughing and gasping for air. Where do you see players running around with soaking wet T-shirts. Where are the shots of players lying prostrate after physical effort.

Has Seagrave become more of a recreational  venue with its  swimming pool, golf course, than a physical training center.

Foot note

Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams broke the record for most consecutive games in La Liga history.

The Spaniard, 27, played his 203rd successive match surpassing the record held by former Real Sociedad defender Juan Larranaga from 1986-1992.

Do you see  203 not just 3 games like some of our lot. That is fitness.

203 is the record, by definition that is remarkable and not a realistic expectation.

Ah, there's nothing like an over-reaction on Foxestalk.

Whilst we are shite at the moment and I'm not particularly looking forward to attending the game tomorrow, we're in the best situation we've ever been in and won the FA Cup less than 5 months ago.

Get a grip.

Photos of players sweating profusely aren’t as attractive as those where they’re not.   (yes @Suzie the Fox, I know Vicente in any physical state is more than attractive )

the media stuff is always showing the guys having a good time - they media team aren’t invited along when it’s gets intensive - they’re a distraction for the players.

As sport science has improved, training methods have changed. What you’ve described harps back to the 80s. You might have a point about players becoming too comfortable with their surroundings, but I don’t think training players to the point of physical exhaustion is the answer.

Apart from Kasper holds the current record for most consecutive games in the Premier League and no player has played more games for a single club in Europe over the last 10 years.

I'd hazard a guess but I think the training at Seagrave will be the same as it was at Bevoir Drive and just as sweaty but with better facilities and more of it. That being said why the topic titled Seagrave?

Playing two games a week, add in the travelling etc, doesn’t actually leave a lot of time for any intensive training. Probably more a case of recovery fitness, assessment of any knocks, tweaks etc and a little bit of tactical sessions and it’s bags packed and ready for the next one.

would we really want to see the players running up and down old John/bradgate park or sand dunes at wanlip gravel pits the day before a match?

I want to see a video where Rodgers pulls Daniel Amartey aside and gives him a right good dressing down for consistently hitting the net whilst playing football tennis in teams of 3!

Not sure it fits with the ‘image’ that’s trying to be portrayed through the training clips on our social media channels though.

I often wonder how many ankles were wrenched during the Wanlip gravel pit runs.

Our issues aren't a lack of fitness imo. Our defending is and has been so niave all season. Even if you had the stamina or fitness of a marathon runner, you're not going to win any games if you defend like we have. I'm surprised we've managed to even win 2 games already!
