One thing you can never criticise Rodgers for is his media presence. Few odd statements made on local radio from time to time, but when he’s in front of the leeches of the wider media circus he always comes out well.

I think it's well practiced, usually the same things but in a different order.

Not seen anything about covid spot checks for tomorrow. Have they quietly swerved it? Anyone know if we have to do 'owt?

I think it's a real can of worms if they make passes mandatory. Too many objections for too many reasons and they've already proved that the Covid Clipboard squad are just as speedy and competent as the catering team for the people that do have the ID/Cards/letters etc

I thought he looked the part in the community shield but been poor in other games since. Maybe Covid has caused him fitness issues. Or maybe like you say he isn’t up to scratch.

Yeah, it's debatable but I thought he really nosedive at Southampton in the last couple of years and their defence was a disgrace. Yet we go and get 2 of them, both near or in their 30's, staggering.

Not won an official game either have started an'all! 😳😳

Until JJ is fit I believe Thomas is a better option.

I like Thomas, he was doggo vs Legia the other week but more often than not he's solid for us, if a little unadventurous. Bertrand going forward, we might as well not bother and defensively, less said the better. JJ the stand out player.

That is close to our strongest starting 11 with the players we have available. The only change i would make is Lookman for Perez

....with the current form and subsequent views expressed by many, it is a surprise that you are including Bertrand in this team!!!

Perez brought back also perhaps makes us a bit under powered.

Absolutely agree but I always wonder with Thomas and other young players whether they're merely following orders to the letter for fear of not being picked again. I think Thomas is capable of attacking as I believe he started out as a striker/attacking player.

Let me think....someone else signed by Sir Alex....someone else with a Premier League winners medal....someone else who's fallen out of favour at Old Trafford and someone else who plays CB?......🤔

Kasper

Castagne Evans Soyuncu Bertrand

Perez Tielemans Soumare Barnes

Nacho Vardy

Ricardo if available or even Lookman instead of Perez but having Ricardo in there would allow it to become a back 3 with Castagne if needed too.

Castagne lb, Ricardo rb. Anyone selecting Bertrand in their starting 11 need to give their heads a wobble.

I think I'd rather see Marc North there instead of plastic Bertrand ffs!

I imagine the team we face will be stronger than either of the teams we faced and beat last season. So probably take the results with a slight pinch of salt.

Why would you think so? Apart from Ronaldo, who else would make their team "stronger" than last season's? They will be missing Maguire, and probably Fred and Cavani from last season's teams (plus Varane).

Because they played weakened teams against us in both games.

I'd take a draw all day to be honest. Just need to stop the rot. I'm hoping that playing a side that won't sit back might help us.
