Don't get me wrong, Praet wasn't perfect -  we needed more physicality in midfield, since we always get bullied.

 

But Soumare just doesn't seem to offer any more defensively, and I thought Praet's passing range was much better imo.

Defensively we look quite vulnerable though, which is no real surprise is it but even against absolute dog shit like this we are well capable of conceding goals and its a problem that just won't go away. Haha! I've noticed that Daka loves an airshow as well.

 

I think our midfielders are absolutely terrible at tracking runners, we have a lot of ball watchers.

 

We look dangerous everytime we attack though, will be disappointed if we don't end with 5+ tbf

My observation of Soumare in the first half was that whenever a pass was on to madders in space he was in the way. But I don’t think that’s soumare I think that’s him and ndidi sharing the deep position.

 

i think we’d have better shape with KDH on and having the wing backs do a bit more defensively.

Oh I agree and I understand that. I mean what is his role? What are we expecting him to do? He's good at holding the ball up, but other than that I don't really know what to judge his performance on.

His role is to get forward when  he can and defend when out of possession. The problem he has is switching off in the transition between the two. Also he's not sure when to go and when to stay. that will take time from him and Coaching from Brendan. You have to make allowances for young players, even though there is a lot at stake.

Praet is a Belgian international. He makes clever runs and has a good range of passing. A selfless player that does the dirty work. Not sure why he was frozen. Soumare is decent but Praet is not bad.
