erlee Posted 6 December 2021 Posted 6 December 2021 nah we'll be savng it up for the blockbuster against Newcastle. .
lgfualol Posted 6 December 2021 Posted 6 December 2021 (edited) Suspect we'll go back to 3412 for this one, our wingers arent very good atm (aside from Barnes goal) and don't really help the fullbacks. Think BR will aim for the most boring 0-0 ever known to man. Schmeichel Amsrtey Evans Soy Castagne Tielemans Choudhury (or Soumare) Thomas Maddison Vardy Nacho Ricardo in for one of the fullbacks if he is fit again. Edited 6 December 2021 by lgfualol 1

Popular Post Hammo Posted 6 December 2021 Popular Post Posted 6 December 2021 Just so everyone is clear on what we need to do in Naples to finish where: Leicester will top the group - and qualify directly for the Europa League round of 16 on 10/17 March (draw on 25 Feb) - if a) they beat Napoli, if b) both games are drawn, or if c) they draw and Legia beat Spartak (because of Leicester's head-to-head advantage over Legia: 0-1, 3-1). Leicester will finish second - and qualify for the Europa League knockout play-off on 17/24 February (against one of the teams that finish third in their Champions League group; draw on 13 Dec) - if a) they draw against Napoli and Spartak beat Legia, or if b) they lose and the other game is drawn (because of Leicester's head-to-head advantage over Spartak: 4-3, 1-1). Leicester will finish third - and qualify for the Europa Conference League knockout play-offs on 17/24 February (draw on 13 Dec) - if they lose against Napoli and there is a winner (Legia or Spartak) in the other fixture. Leicester cannot finish fourth and go out of Europe altogether. 3 4
KrefelderFox666 Posted 6 December 2021 Posted 6 December 2021 I actually think we will be in this tie. Hoping we can sneak a draw. Maybe Napoli haven't figured us out... 1
KrefelderFox666 Posted 6 December 2021 Posted 6 December 2021 Schmeichel Thomas Soyuncu Evans Castagne Ndidi KDH Barnes Iheanacho Perez Daka Obviously concede 2 goals. So going with a Desmond.
Foxes96 Posted 6 December 2021 Posted 6 December 2021 At the start of the season would have taken a mid table season, if it meant a good run in the Europa league. A win on Thursday and we’re through to the last 16, in Feb, when we’ll hopefully have little Wes and JJ back and anything is possible again. Running out of ideas to arrest our current slide. A midfield 3 of Ndidi - Youri - Maddison has served us so well over the last few years. And is Perez on the right the missing piece Schmeichel Castagne - Evans - Söyüncü - Thomas Youri - Ndidi Perez - Maddison - Barnes Daka 1
Hales Posted 6 December 2021 Posted 6 December 2021 Well they will be practising their set pieces for sure! Not looking forward to this 😕

I wouldn't say their form is too hot either. Not sure they have massive players either to threaten as much as other teams on set pieces and have plenty of injury concerns. I see a balanced game. If we decide to turn up and actually concentrate on not making mistakes, we will get something from this.
Pliskin Posted 6 December 2021 Posted 6 December 2021 Osimhen is a huge blow for them, he is the difference maker so that gives us half a chance.

Works both ways their form has dropped way off in recent weeks. If we lose it will be through our own incompetence

StriderHiryu Posted 6 December 2021 Posted 6 December 2021 IMO they are still the best team we have played so far this season. Chelsea dominated us, but we were pretty poor, whereas Napoli I felt also dominated us, were unlucky not to lead, then conceded twice (both good goals) and still got back to draw deservedly 2-2. Given current form, the intimidating nature of their stadium and that they lost a close encounter at the weekend and it's hard to see anything other than a tonking. 1

Sums up my thoughts exactly, wouldn't be shocked to see us concede 4 or 5. The atmosphere, our form, Napoli being a good team and in need of a positive result. It all feels like the perfect storm where we completely collapse
RowlattsFox Posted 6 December 2021 Posted 6 December 2021 The only chance we have is them being naïve defensively and us catching them out on the break. Bit like the first game. And they need to have a shocker in front of goal. Got the making of going horribly wrong though, early red card to something stupid and then a 4-5 nil defeat. To be honest, our only hope of going far in europe is by finishing 3rd here and go into the conference league. Even then there is a chance we'd still go out in the next round.

Clever Fox Posted 6 December 2021 Posted 6 December 2021 If we're not 2 down after half an hour I'll be more hopeful we can get a result. I'm not sure we'll see Evans for this one, He looked out on his feet at the end yesterday.
Poiseuille Posted 6 December 2021 Posted 6 December 2021 Team I’d play, assuming returning players are fit and tactically given an extended break at the weekend in preparation for this big game: Ward Ricardo Amartey Vestegaard Bertrand Ndidi Youri Albrighton Maddison Barnes Vardy Complete overhaul in defence, including keeper, needs be done. Not a fan of Vestegaard but…he’s big? And might be able to defend a corner, maybe…. 3/6 changes for rest of outfield players, strongest midfield 3, and maybe Marc can provide some solution to our RW issue. 1
mabbsy93 Posted 6 December 2021 Posted 6 December 2021 WARD AMARTEY EVANS CASTAGNE ALBRIGHTON NDIDI THOMAS KDH MADDERS KELECHI VARDY 3 at the back, with Castagne supporting Thomas down the left. N'didi sitting protecting the back 4. Madders and KDH ratting, with Kelechi marking the deepest lying midfielder. Keeping a clean sheet for the first 45 is crucial, lets build from there.
filbertway Posted 6 December 2021 Posted 6 December 2021 Fairly sure we'll see a return to a back 3 here and a proper gross starting line up. Schmeichel Albrighton Amartey Vesty Soy Bertrand Soumare Ndidi KDH Vardy Kelechi
