I don’t get the point of the u23’s if they don’t get brought in to the first team squad for situations like this? Some must be good enough to get a bench spot at least.

Are they eligible to play in the Europa Conference nonsense, or is it a pre-determined squad? 

I'd really like us to fully disrespect that if we can, (no offence intended to our u23's) and put a side of unknowns out, or just not fulfill the fixtures, same as Spurs did.

You do realise that if we win the Conference that we qualify for the EL next season?

You can only recall and or register players during the transfer window. So technically yes. But not just yet, will also depend on the specifics of the loan deal I guess.

No I was totally unaware of that. That does put a different slant on it.
