If it is called off I hope we know before the day. At least know how much to get p**** the night before lol:beer:

I’m hoping it’s called late if it’s off (sorry norwich fans). I’m looking forward to a Saturday 3pm kick off pre match pub routine. If I’m already out I get a good afternoon in the boozer with my mates, early cancellation will mean everyone stays home :(

This season is complete carnage isn’t it. The Qatar World Cup in November was a bad idea at the time but since covid it looks worse.

No real opportunity to stretch the season longer than it needs and teams have extra games AOTS. What’s the answer?

Just changed loads of fixtures around to use up weekends such as when FA Cup is played (obviously if both clubs are out of the competition at that given time).

Pain but something needs to happen otherwise we're gonna be stuck with loads of midweek games.

Would be such a shame to chuck the FA Cup game as holders but may well happen the way things are going :(

No, I don't mean that, I don't mean ditch the competition, I mean when two PL teams are out they both play each other, a league fixture, on an FA Cup weekend (which doesn't usually happen of course, there's not usually league games when the FA Cup is on).

Only way this is getting called off is if us or Norwich have more injuries / COVID. As it stands both sides are in the same position as this week

If they can't stump up the requisite amount of players then I'm sure we'd be happy to loan them Vestergaard, Perez and Bertrand for the afternoon.

lol

Actually not sure about Perez?

I reckon every time he's played against their current keeper he has got a hat-trick !? Mebee wrong?

Norwich had more injuries at palace

the rules are pretty clear now

so it a club is requesting a postponement they must have done the sums

I would say they are still pretty vague

1) The impact of COVID-19 infections on a club's squad, as well as injuries, illness and those isolating, and the number of players available on the squad list and any Under-21 players with appropriate experience. Where a club cannot field 13 outfield players and a goalkeeper either from its squad list or its appropriately experienced Under-21 players, the match will be postponed.
2) The status of any COVID-19 outbreak within a club, including the number of individuals affected, the sequence and source of infections and their proximity to the match in question.
3) A club's ability to safely prepare its players in the lead-up to a match.
4) Medical advice as to whether there is any unacceptable risk to the health and safety of players and staff by playing the match.
5) Any advice from UK Health Security Agency and other public bodies.
6) Any other exceptional circumstances.

What does this actually mean? Is there an official definition of this anywhere?

Currently, unless there injuries/illnesses we don't know about we don't fit the necessary criteria to call this off as we have 15 outfield players from the original 25 man squad available, though this does include Benkovic. However, once the AFCON trio leave we would only have 12 as things currently stand. Think I've done the maths right.

No idea how Norwich are doing.

Looks like they have 11 potentially out, although one of those is a keeper. So they should have 14 players including a keeper still available.

Ongoing talks would say Norwich aren't quite at the point yet where they can get it called off.

I am also guessing ongoing talks are because we would have 3 matches we would have to re-schedule, and given we are losing four players to AFCON right after this match, I am sure Rodgers just once to get this one over with. Sad truth is, Norwich is going down, so they can afford to throw some u23's on the pitch without it affecting the grand scheme of things. I am not saying that's the right attitude, but I would hate to see the Premier League decide to reschedule this game -- or even the Everton game -- during one of the midweek slots in January, when we have no Ndidi/Amartey/Nacho/Mendy.

If so it’s still vague could this mean one appearance or even a sub appearance
