They are paying Leicester a fee of £15.5m for Danish goalkeeper Hermansen, while there are £2m in add-ons which the Foxes could also pocket.

Achieving those add-ons though will not be straightforward and they have been described as ‘tough’ ones to trigger.

This is not accurate from a very good source. It's £18m up front.

Who is the good source, sorry?

only question because this £15m number has been banded about by a number of people now.

Imagine there are leaks on both sides to make the number look favourable

That’s quite a high tier for West Ham news though?

The initial indications were that a fee of around £18m had been agreed between the club and the Foxes, which is already considered very good business

It’s now been revealed by our insider Ex that the initial fee is lower than that, at just £15.5m. The add ons of £2m have been described as ‘tough’.

“We can exclusively reveal that the actual price that we paid for Danish international keeper Mads Hermansen was £15.5m with £2m worth of “tough add ons,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

All I can say is from the selling side it's been said to be higher than that. Gamesmanship.

But we are calling it £18m, they’re calling it £15m with 3m difficult add ons…. Which makes me more inclined to take the £15m number. Else surely we’d be calling it £18m with 3m of add ons.

We also have said there's add ons. Some are saying £18m + £3m in add ons, some reports £5m. But someone who is seldom ever wrong about us has said the up front fee is £18m.

Quite possibly, but if that was the case then why on earth did we not strive to sell anyone before the end of June? I don't see how we complied with PSR for 24/25 only to be massively at risk of failing 25/26 without selling loads of players.

We do have a massive squad so it's right to try and move many of them on, especially with 9 out of contract next summer and a horrible reputation for players leaving on a free here.

But who knows. I do think we are deliberately trying to make it look like we are doing everything possible to cut costs and not spend as a defence for previous breach.

I think PSR is only part of the issue if at all, I actually fear this is more about us operating as financially sustainable business, given King Powers challenges I fear Top has said he can no longer underwrite huge losses and we need to be self sufficient pronto.

It's been quite amusing overall watching journalists change numbers, clauses, information every few minutes with things relating to us this year.

It's been more obvious than ever no one has a clue about the deals we're doing

I don't have an issue with this really, i think it should be the way we are. We messed up giving big contracts to the wrong players when chasing the champions league.

I don’t either, the mis management has been appalling and even following the first relegation, little had been learnt as we continued to offer inflated transfer fees and bloated contracts to players such as Coady, Winks, Ayew, Reid and Skipp whilst failing to move on players such as Soumare, Faes, VK, Ward, Iversen etc etc.

My worry and concern is that we get stuck with some of the crap on high wages stinking the place out for another season, whilst having to sell the only real quality we have for knock down prices to try and regain some semblance of financial control.

So, if this is to be believed (and I do), we're only looking at Loans & Free Transfers, this window. All incoming funds will be directed to wages and satisfying PSR. That woukd curtail any further interest in many of the players we've been linked with (eg Kone, even though he was available for less than £5m).

One possibility that might happen then, Brownhill - on a Free, but with biggish wages.

Easy to say in hindsight, but everyone on these boards was encouraging the club to take the gamble at the time and dreaming of permanently challenging the traditional status quo.

Ultimately, I think whatever was done (take the risk and try and keep the band together while adding a new bass player or appreciate your one hit wonder and accept that your lead singer and guitarist are going and you’ll go back to playing the local clubs like you used to) a similar sort of fall out that we have now would have happened.

Except we were never a one-hit wonder. It happened over a glorious 10-year period and has more hits than most clubs in over 100 years of history. It lasted longer than the Beatles.

Pretty sure he wouldn't be allowed in the country...

That would be the only thing stopping it happening tbf as the people at the top don't do their due diligence as we know already!
