Problem with Mctominay is that he’s not creative enough in the 10 and not solid enough for the 6. 
 

not many teams play with a conventional 8 any more and those that do have players much better than him

Even if we had the money and could afford his wages, I can't see him wanting to come here, this season. He'll have much better offers I would assume.
