I know they’re a local rival but it still baffles me that people get this animated about Coventry bloody City. They might as well be Northampton Town to us these days.

To be fair, that's even more of the case with Forest or Derby, Games against Coventry have generally had more meaning than games vs Forest or Derby in a large amount, if not probably the majority of fans living memories now. We've been in tense relegation and even the one playoff battle with them over the past 15-20 years.

You probably have to be in your late 30s to really remember the bite and the meaningful games vs Derby in the early 90s and with the exception of the Knockaert goal vs Forest, you probably have to be in your mid 40s to remember meaningful games vs Forest in the 80s and before. Everything else vs Forest or Derby for the last 30-odd years have been meaningless midtable Championship games with thousands of empty seats and little bite to them and nothing to play for.

To older fans Forest and Derby are big games, but I know to the younger generation they mean very little. It makes sense that some of the younger fans consider games vs Coventry to have slightly more bite to them than the Forest or Derby games.

I’m 26. When I grew up, we were competing with Derby, and in the last 10 years we’ve had far more competition with Forest (and Derby actually) than Cov.

I think it’s safe to say that people who hate Cov are those that live near Coventry, which is fine and makes sense but from an outsiders perspective, I don’t get anything from our ‘rivalry’ with them and I don’t think it makes much sense

I can't say I remember us competing with Derby in the 00s much? I remember Derby usually in and around the playoffs going for promotion and Forest playing in League One, while ourselves and Coventry were scrapping it out together in relegation battles while our games were always 6 pointers and always felt like much bigger and more important games.

In the last 10 years we competed with Forest for the playoffs for about 2 months at the end of 2012-13 when we collapsed from looking like certainties for automatic promotion to being in a real fight to stay in the playoffs, which led to an important game on the final day.

Other than that I can't remember any meaningful games that weren't just thousands of empty seats and meaningless damp squibs with zero bite that just felt like just another game against Blackpool or QPR against any of those 3 clubs.

It would help if any of the three weren't complete and utter shit.

I find them all irrelevant

Just seen on twitter the idea of having a platform solely for FA cup games, that the FA could utilise to bring some life back to games and televise every game.

Then realised it was Jake Humphrey with the idea and he was being a bellend about it

Why didn't his channel push it before when they had the rights to FA Cup games?

Whatever the worst draw is we'll get that. Almost guaranteed to get a team in our league. Probably West Ham or Spurs away.

Yep -our ball will not get the customary big 6 ‘warming’.  Chelsea or Liverpool or Arsenal or Tottenham.   I have left our ManC as they usually get byes against lower league teams in the early rounds.

Already been done pretty much - in the last few years you could watch games on the fa player, bet365, Facebook and yesterday bbc showed multiple games on the iPlayer, outside of the normal selections and 3pm blackout.

🤔 meaningful games v’s coventry?
Forest and Derby are the games with bite in, coventry is just coventry and a nice away game for a big away following

Man City get the easiest draws every year in every competition.

Nailed on they get Kidderminster.

We had some meaningful games against them in the 90's in the PL and then post that we beat them pretty much every game in the Championship. Always enjoyed playing them.

They once stuffed us in the FA Cup at home under O'Neill, that was horrible.
