Popular Post foxfanazer Posted 24 January 2022 Popular Post Posted 24 January 2022 Getting rid of defenders in January sounds like a genius idea! 5
jayfox26 Posted 25 January 2022 Posted 25 January 2022 Well he won't be passing a medical at Inter or anywhere else in this window.

Good going forward and defensively. He's at least a 7/10 every week. Do people think such players are easy to come by?! 6
Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 25 January 2022 Posted 25 January 2022 He's a quality player when in form. Great outlet going forward and solid in defence. But without looking at stats, I do think he goes about 8 games on and then injured for a period. I'd be interested to know how may separate periods of injury he's had whilst a fox. My instinct is it's a high number.

Grebfromgrebland Posted 25 January 2022 Posted 25 January 2022 Some reports are that we're looking to loan him out with an obligation to buy. If true it probably means that he hasn't settled here and reacts to be back in Italy. 1
turlo Posted 25 January 2022 Posted 25 January 2022 Keep unless he really wants out as still a v good squad player even though his form has dropped off a bit this season. The recruitment team will be busy enough this summer with the amount of players moving in and out due to contracts expiring next year

martyn Posted 25 January 2022 Posted 25 January 2022 (edited) It's a difficult one with Castagne. I totally get the point that losing valuable squad players isn't something you want to keep doing, especially as you're trusting our recruitment, with a hit and miss recent record, to replace adequately. Having said that, I get the feeling Castagne hasn't ever truly settled at Leicester, and if we could recoup £20m plus, it'd be a half decent deal. If you knew that Ricardo and Justin would recover their top level, it would make the decision easier as he isn't as good as those 2 at their peak. Edited 25 January 2022 by martyn

These days teams will still sign an injured player as long as the medical team can prove its not long term . Saying that I thought he was only out for a few weeks .But I've just it's more likely 8-9 weeks so you could be right .
suffolk fox Posted 25 January 2022 Posted 25 January 2022 paper talk nonsense Castagne is not going annywhere just yet, certainly not in January. 1
coolhandfox Posted 25 January 2022 Posted 25 January 2022 No way he is going in January, we are already short of numbers Combined with the fact he's just hand a OP and is out for some time.

Yeh I get that but a team is unlikely to spend money on January on a player who us unlikely to be fully fit until next season. I doubt we will see the best of Castagne till next season now, if he's still here. 1
MPH Posted 25 January 2022 Posted 25 January 2022 If funds are tight maybe they want to ship out Timmy to get another CB in?
Clever Fox Posted 25 January 2022 Posted 25 January 2022 I like him , but if we can move him on and get our money back or with a profit I'd take it. If we're trying to get a settled side then you don't need players who are often Injured. We need to pay attention to the physical aspects of the players we sign and sign players who have both Skill and a physical presence. This season is nearly over certainly in league terms so start planning for next season. Move all the surplus players on as soon as we can. There's very little sentiment in Football only results count. The Summer Window coming could be the most important in years after the mistakes in recent seasons.
Popular Post indierich06 Posted 25 January 2022 Popular Post Posted 25 January 2022 Probably one of the most dependable players in the squad, can't even recall him ever having a game that's been less than about a 7 out of 10. 5
Popular Post Sampson Posted 25 January 2022 Popular Post Posted 25 January 2022 (edited) Can't believe people are happy to get rid of one of our better defenders while we're leaking goals like a sieve and desperately need defensive reinforcements ffs. The stats say we miss him most defensively out of anyone in the side when he's out. Even more than Ndidi or Evans. Our Goals Conceded per 90 mins when he is on the pitch is much lower than any other defender this season. For comparison Castagne - 1.49 Ndidi - 1.54 Soyuncu - 1,75 Thomas - 1.81 Ricardo - 1.82 Betrand - 1.89 Evans 1.90 Amartey - 2.06 Vestergaard - 2.38 Overall team - 1.85 Edited 25 January 2022 by Sampson 8

The bloke seems to be constructed out of waffles. Genuinely how much percentage time has he missed with injuries here? I'll be happy to consider my opinion if I'm evidently talking shight. Be interested to know. Seems to always get a 2-6 game run together, develops a niggle and out for up to a month. Was an issue before he came here too. With the amount of other injuries we get it'd be nice to have more reliable players.
lcfc_forever Posted 25 January 2022 Posted 25 January 2022 We're lacking in experience, especially in defence, and people are suggesting we let one of our established internationals go? Wow. He was one of our best players for the first few weeks of the season. Not been great recently but has the right, winning mentality that we need more of, based on his comments to media in the first few games of the season.

UniFox21 Posted 25 January 2022 Posted 25 January 2022 Inter are buying Gosens from Atalanta, going to assume Castagne was paper talk to push that along

He just looks better because the rest of the defence has been in tatters for so long.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 25 January 2022 Posted 25 January 2022 Quality player, surely no way we'll get rid! Especially while Ricardo Pereira has shown no sign he can ever be the player he once was. He's our second best full back surely - thats assuming James Justin can reach his previous heights pre injury too! Why would we sell? 1
