Think that's a bit harsh on JJ. He had a freak one off injury that was extremely severe and could have happened to anyone. Think it's a bit premature to write him off as injury prone. Only really Castagne and Ricardo that are significant problems out of the actual 4, no? 1

It's not unfair, it would be hugely presumptious for us to dismiss the seriousness of Justin's injury and that he'll be back to being immune from further injury like he seemed to be last season when he was played in almost every game as the relentless machine. Its not to discriminate against him as an injury prone player, its to ensure we don't get caught out as our injury issues have been beyond words. 42 minutes ago, Shane said: Wormleighton > Yilmaz Yilmaz is a left back
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 19 April 2022 Posted 19 April 2022 Our best full back. Would be sad to see him go.
UniFox21 Posted 19 April 2022 Posted 19 April 2022 One of those where he's a constant great performer, few injury issues which have stopped him fully kicking on. Would be a shame to lose him 1

I like Castagne, but he is injury prone, and we might make some money off of him. ...for someone who came to fulfill a certain role, he has been pulled from pillar to post!!! Our uncertainty in who we look to play in the Fullbacks have not helped, so I am not going to blame him, from wanting to leave. He was a breath of fresh air when he came and I will be sorry to see him go. If we cannot guarantee him a position that he wishes to play then, good luck to him in his future endeavours.
LFox99 Posted 19 April 2022 Posted 19 April 2022 I dont wanna lose Tim, such a solid worker with quality about him. 2

Popular Post Shane Posted 19 April 2022 Popular Post Posted 19 April 2022 We will badly miss Timmy’s running off the ball. He’s always making lung busting runs and most of the time he’s not even given the ball, but used as a decoy. Very good team player. 6
Devonfox1884 Posted 19 April 2022 Posted 19 April 2022 I reckon what happens is largely contingent on whether we have European football next season. If we do, there will be more games and therefore more rotation. We’ll be more likely able to keep players happy with regards to their game time. No European football means less games, less rotation, and therefore more bemused squad members with regards to game time. A young player like Yilmaz is more likely to be happy with a lesser role than Timmy. Not necessarily saying that Timmy wouldn’t start in our best XI, but it could apply to a few players who might want to play more regularly. 2
Webbo Posted 19 April 2022 Posted 19 April 2022 Wormleighton is a decent prospect but he's not ready to be a premier League player yet.
rachhere Posted 19 April 2022 Posted 19 April 2022 Pretty sure his partner is pregnant, so that could be a factor as well in wanting to be nearer family support. I would be very sad to see him go. 1

The young lads could do with his game management, particularly in injury time!
Wizerud Posted 19 April 2022 Posted 19 April 2022 Would much rather he stayed. He's a known quantity, always gives 100% and has started to add a few goals and assists. Odds are whoever we replace him with won't be as good. We're hoping JJ can stay healthy, Ricardo hasn't been back at his POTY best yet but is slowly getting there and I'm not convinced Thomas will be anything more than a squad player, long-term. Still good depth but with question marks and looks a lot shallower if Timmy leaves. But if he wants to go, he goes. 3
SafewayFox Posted 20 April 2022 Posted 20 April 2022 Baffled at how many seem to think we’d be a better squad without Castagne. For me, he’s our most complete FB - before Ricardo’s injury it would have been him but if we’re being honest he’s gone from being in the top 3 RB’s in the league to middle of the road and think other fans would say they have as dynamic FB’s as him now sadly. Castagne’s best traits are his energy, defending 1 on 1 and football brain if ask me - his link up play with Praet/Youri at times last season was a joy to watch down the right. Hopefully this is just all agent talk as at 26 he’s hitting his peak years. 4
Deeg67 Posted 20 April 2022 Posted 20 April 2022 With both his Belgian mates likely gone next season he may simply not enjoy being around as much. 1

A lot would probably not agree that if other players leave it affects others. It really does have an impact. Its your life away from football too. The 3 Belgians do seem close and all have wives and families that no doubt socialise together and support one another. It's such a shame if we do lose all 3 as the link up between them has been great and it wasn't that long ago that many were saying build the team around them. I would absolutely not sell Timmy. 1

RB: Ricardo, Wormleighton LB: JJ, Thomas, Yilmaz Given Ricardo probably won't be able to play 2 games a week for a full season, its highly unlikely we will use a youth player that hasn't played a single minute of first team football. If Castagne leaves, we will at least want to get what we paid for him and use that money to sign another full back. A natural left back would be ideal as we only have Thomas. Bertrand can get in the bin and Justin and Ricardo can rotate at right back.
