Unfortunately we had a moderate degree of success switching to a back 3 when protecting  leads in Rodgers’ hot streak.

The difference between then and now is 3 things:

1) It was always Morgan who came on who was experienced and calm in a crisis.

2) Confidence

3) Luck - and this was definitely the biggest factor.

It's absolutely comical the difference in the ability of the managers to affect the game with substitutions.

Random Dane off the street makes two attacking subs and his team gain the attacking impetus.

Rodgers makes two defensive subs and we concede the attacking initiative.

Those exact same tactical changes made 100 times would yield exactly the same result 99 times.

How is Rodgers the only one that doesn't see that?

I despair.

You're right it's made him go super defensive every time we have a lead and it rarely works! We're not the sort of team that can do it

It's not hard to work out. The bloke running their show is the first team coach as they had two covid positive tests for Potter and his right hand man.

The easiest way to conserve energy during a football match, is to keep the ball. In fairness, we use to do this really well and out pass teams, so we could win games late on in reality.

This 2nd half and the game against Tottenham, has been awful.

Terrible game management.

Never even heard of their stand-in manager but vaguely remember him having a Danish sounding name?

Nothing to do with the bench, it's the tactics he's changing. Like for like we would have been sound here.

I'm not having that: did our team improve with subs? No - theirs DID, when and where it mattered.  You can only manage with so much...

Can’t believe I’m thinking this but is it time to part company with Rodgers. It’s becoming so predictable. Despite the fact in interviews he constantly eludes to the fact we don’t move the ball around quick enough.
