Koulilbaly IS two of Wes. lol

I couldn’t believe it! I’ve not really seen him since he was “good” at Napoli. Fatty fatty!!

Mind you I’d be the size of a small boat if I lived in Naples

Oh for sure I could see it happening, I'm just saying there's absolutely no reason we should be supporting him going for anything less than £100m plus, he is worth a ton more than Maguire was, he's worth more than Grealish was, we are in a position of strength, we'd have every right to be disappointed in the club and what it said about our ambitions if they accepted anywhere in the region of £70-90m for him.

Think we have a slightly different view on what’s acceptable price wise, but not by much. Glad it’s up to the club to decide. :D

They have been rejected by every CB target they’ve gone for more or less, we should crank up the price, they’re desperate and we hold all the cards

105m minimum. With no ridiculous add ons. Or FO

:appl:Absolutely. 5 year contract. We LCFC, decide when to sell and the amount, not Chelsea, not Romano, not The 2 Muppets on Sky. Some on here think we have to sell because Fofana is not happy…. Really???

I agree. If Chelsea have made a bid of £70m and we've rejected it I hope we haven't given them our valuation or any encouragement to come back with a higher bid as we don't want to sell.

Our stance should remain he's not for sale. If they keep coming back offering more we shouldn't even entertain it until they reach £100m IMO.

Hopefully they will not go that high right now and we can keep Wes here. We can let him know that he can leave at the end of the season.

No of course he can’t just leave

but you need committed payers and you run the risk that post Qatar he won’t be

also, the club will have to decide if they can’t ignore a certain fee

Where is this idea that he wants to leave coming from?

Defenders dropping like flies today, at this rate Vestergaard will be worth 100m* never mind Fofana. lol

If Everton had a decent number 9 on then they wouldn't lose this game. Chelsea have been rubbish.

However. Clearly see why they want Fofana.....

If we want to see Cags 'step up' we need to stop the incessant sideways nonsense, as I said in a thread the other day Soyuncu is a quality defender who loves to defend.

Unfortunately we won't be stopping the incessant sideways nonsense.

Your right Matt, if played to his strengths alongside Evans he's a good defender. If you stuck Fofana, Evans, Armarty or Vestergaard on the extreme left of a three they'd struggle also. Evans through experience might do better but the point is, at times, Soyuncu was hung out to dry.

Let's definitely not do that. If it's obvious he's not going to sign a new deal three seasons from now and we've developed a solid young CB partner for him who can step up by then sure, but telling him he's free to go in a year would be shooting ourselves in the foot in terms of the price and being able to replace him in our own time. If he gets upset, show him the great big contract he signed.

Most contributors have written ‘IF’ he wants to leave

at the moment all we have to go on is his social media and his focussed ambition to be the best he can and to make the World Cup squad. It’s not so much that he wants to leave - more that he would be happy to sign for Chelsea …..

Don’t worry guys, I’ve had the team for tomorrow and he starts 😂

Sure ? Not doubting it. But is this 100%

Bullish if so. And rightly so in my view. Our player until he’s not. Risky but there we are.

I mean going off thread topic but you've mentioned Vestergaard and i'll hold my hands up, i've slagged him off myself, I think he was a terrible signing (For the way it seems we have to play), a panic buy and I want to see the back of him, however play to his strengths and i'm sure we'd all have a better opinion of him than we all do - he'd arguably be a Huth type we've so desperately missed.

As someone said in the Vestergaard thread you don't play as many games as he has at a top level and be a respected Danish international if you're that bad.

It's just we're very rigid and will only play one way, we arguably have more players not suited to the way we play than are.

Fofana's suited to the way we play, Evans is somewhere inbetween, Soyuncu and Vestergaard not suited at all.

I dare say should Fofana go in this window we'll not replace him with anyone suitable either.

Correct. I suspect he might entertain leaving but his social media posts (at the risk of me  psycho analysing the whole caboodle too much) prior to them drying up suggested a kind of inner turmoil, rather than steadfast wish to leave

Exactly. Who gives a toss whether he's happy or not. He's not paid millions by LCFC to be happy, he's paid millions by LCFC to play football to the best of his ability for LCFC, and it's in his best interest to do so whether he's happy or not. Turn down all bids and let him sulk for me, he'll get over it.

I’d take 95 million if Chelsea are in dire straights. That does, of course, mean we’re an inevitable injury away from playing Amartey or Vestergaard which is pretty much points dropped.

Might be off now anyway, Chelsea too busy frapping themselves senseless at the prospect of Barcelona not being able to register Raphina, and him going to o Chelsea.  lol

Whilst at the same time trying to save their bacon by buying FDJ.
