Literally on the same points as us having played a game more and with equal goal difference. They’re mainly crap and inconsistent considering the money they’ve spent (not saying we aren’t). This would be the definition of a sideways move.

I meant more from a spending perspective and a media point of view. They are investing. We seem a little stagnant at the moment and Gerrard seems a little more upbeat than Mr Rodgers.

I certainly hope he doesn't leave and a few seasons ago I'd have had him going to a much bigger club. But with things the way they are if we don't show some ambition in the summer I can see a few players including Wilf wondering if its time to move on.

Very bad idea to allow Ndidi to move on.  With Tielemans almost certain to leave this summer we do not need or want major surgery on our midfield. Ndidi hasn't been as good this season yes, but he's still very good and vital to our team.

Can see the interest from their point of view, his stats are always right up there, when I looked at their line up on Sunday the DM Luiz seemed the weakest link on paper although I haven't seen a great deal of him and they would be aware of Rodgers statement regarding players who may have achieved all they can here, putting all of that together would be a logical thing for Villa to show interest.

the difference of course is that they started badly and are picking up well… we started ok and are playing doggo so there’s every chance they’ll finish higher than us.

Just not happening is it, Wilf isn’t stupid he’s not going to go to a club no closer to CL football than we are no matter how much ambition they show, as with the Youri to West Ham link it’s utter nonsense, no disrespect to them but both players will set their sights higher, simple as that.

True. I think we’ll finish on very similar points to them, they might edge it through having some genuine quality in Coutinho who will dig them out when they need him. Granted Gerrard has started well but conceding 3 at home to Leeds and losing away to Newcastle is very reminiscent of the type of results we’d expect at the minute, so they’ve clearly still got some consistency issues that will stop them kicking on. If N’didi is going it will be to a club a step above where we are currently, Villa aren’t that at the minute (although a bigger club historically obviously).

Future at Leicester?

That’s not that accurate tbf. Just looked it up and he’s p13 w5 d2 l6. So it’s not like he’s setting the world on fire there. They have got a really decent squad, should be doing better imo.

Ndidi?

“He’s been a really important player in my time here. You see the importance I give to him in the team. It’s a young team at the moment. His experience helps the players. Wherever I ask him to play, he gives us a great physicality. There are still areas he can improve on. He comes in with a joy to train and learn. He gives us all.”

Ndidi future?

“He seems very settled, he’s moved into a new house. He seems very happy. He’s a pleasure to work with. We hope he’ll be here for a few years."

Ndidi valued at £50m?

“He’s worth much more than that.”

Not to a direct rival!!!!

They won’t be a rival for long. Our heyday is fading and we will slowly drop back into a cycle again, albeit better than the last 30-40 years. Villa are on the up and have the fanbase, money, ambition to complete this transfer.

But what other fanbase will be endeared by his blazing shots 50 yards above the net vs. annoyed?

If you werent absolutely raging against west ham when he blazed at the end when there were plenty of options on, than you are a better man than I.

certainly improved their league position since he’s gone there and we seem to be on the slide..

He’ll want European football. Probably champions league too if he can’t get it,

Why would we even sell to Villa, We'd be weakening our team while making them stronger, thereby jeopardising our top 4 chances in coming seasons.

Keep Wilf and build around him, And Brendan please sort out his shooting, It's embarrassingly bad.

Ndidi has been solid enough this season and has performed to a much higher and more consistent level than most around him. He needs a season uninterrupted by personal injuries, being played out of position due to CB injuries and international duties for us to see him back to his best in a Leicester. He hasn't had that for 2 seasons but either way I wouldn't be entertaining an offer from Villa.

The only reason I can see Ndidi being sold is if Rodgers has been told that to fund any deals this summer he's got to sell to buy. Though I think he'd be mad to sell both Youri and Ndidi in the same window.
