Daka and Barnes or Iheanacho up top. I'd be going with this for the foreseeable. It's the only way we seem to avoid getting totally rolled in the middle, KDH attacks down the left and makes up for what Thomas won't offer going forward, and the attacking roles are all quite interchangeable anyway so you can easily play Lookman/Barnes in that partnership. You also get Iheanacho a partner and he becomes more effective. Totally baffling how we've not seen it once since the last win. 1

The side that starts against Leicester will probably have only 3 outfield players of 6 foot tall or more, and one of those is Dwight McNeil who doesn't use his height. (If Rodriguez and Cork keep their places ahead of Cork and Westwood, which I suspect they won't, that will be 5 six-footers. But Weghorst is the only one above 6 foot 1.) It's a common myth that Burnley are big (just as it is a myth that they are a dirty side), and myths is what they certainly are. We work corners like a big side. Don't doubt that. Mate you could have an attack of Messi, Maradona and Giovinco and I'd back you to get your opening goal from a corner against us. 2

CosbehFox Posted 1 March 2022 Posted 1 March 2022 Hate being negative before a game but can only see Burnley winning here by a single goal 2

We've only failed to score against the big boys - Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal this season. Every other game in the league we've scored at least one, so I'd say it's highly likely we'll score tonight. Edit - Ahh re reading your post you're not necessarily saying 1-0 Burnley, just by a single goal? So 4-3 for example... Edited 1 March 2022 by Collymore
Supergray22 Posted 1 March 2022 Posted 1 March 2022 This is going to be a tough and difficult game and I am just looking to see us compete and give it everything. I’d also like to see us demonstrate confidence and good decision making. We need this now and we need to show fight. I think a win is possible. Anything is possible. Support the team and hope for the best. COYB 🦊

COYB Team Kasper Ricardo Amartey Wilf Thomas Youri Dewsbury-Hall Lookman Maddison Barnes Vardy I like the attacking look of this team but, unfortunately, it looks woefully weak in midfield. The best alternative seems to be the diamond proposed earlier, which gives better midfield strength (hopefully relieving pressure on the defence) and allows 2 up front instead of the lone striker; but there's no room for wingers. The lack of attacking width with the diamond could be remedied somewhat if we had 2 energetic wing backs, but could Thomas's deficiency there be compensated sufficiently by the energy of KDH on the left? Swings and roundabouts.

Stephen Hughes Posted 1 March 2022 Posted 1 March 2022 Big win. We’ve looked okay in the last few games, albeit we didn’t get the result we wanted.

Call me crazy but I think albrighton and Ricardo really compliment each others game. Then I’d put lookman on in the second half against tiring legs. 1
Kinowe Soorie Posted 1 March 2022 Posted 1 March 2022 Harvey Barnes needs to be on it tonight. He’s our match winner. 2
