I know we were joking in the match thread but you can't really knock that. Sort of tough result we needed and the quality up front showing again.

Amartey I thought was sensational at the back and mom.

Vardy and Madders won that game from the bench. Pope had a blinder too, without him we could have had a really comfortable evening.

Made hard work of it.  Had Madders started, the game would have been easier to manage.

 

Still, the result was needed, and Rodgers has delivered there.

I'm a really big fan of Patson Daka. I think he's one of the most natural finishers with both feet we've ever had. 

 

But he's still learning and developing and he needs to be showing ample footage of movement like Vardy's for the goal. 

 

It's the part of his game he needs to work on the most and we have one of the best of his generation at the club. Vards movement off the ball is what we really miss when he's out of the side. Nacho and Daka spend so much time milling around the box not sure where to run when wide players have the ball. That was class to Vards, the way he casually drifts free of everyone back stick. If we can get Patson doing that even 50% as well we'll be laughing.

Soyuncu was brilliant I thought. Managed Weghorst very well and dominant. 

 

Maddison and Vardy the game changers. Good subs by Rodgers. Credit to him for that. 

 

Hope Ricardo's injury isn't serious. And just brought off as a precaution. 

 

A solid win - defence was strong, restricted Burnley to very few chances. 

 

Very happy with that. Great to see Vardy back and scoring!

Going to reserve any negative judgment I still have on Rodgers etc and just enjoy this one. An away win and a clean sheet seemed like a distant memory prior to this so I’ll just enjoy it.
