I’ve noticed this a few times…what’s the obsession of making him captain? What will make him a good leader? Giving him the captaincy could ruin him or leave him not concentrating on what he’s good at. 
 

Evans or someone like that should be captain, not madders.

Because Brendan has helped him mature massively. He's similar to Kasper where he will get involved with the referee to back up a teammate. For now obviously Evans will get it, but should Madders renew, then in one or two years time I could really see him being our captain

Not for sale although given the Tielemans situation the club may be a bit nervous if Madders end up in the same situation as Tielemans a year later. Hope Madders loves this club enough to not do a Tielemans and sign a contract extension.

If Spurs come calling I can see him forcing a move but Newcastle wouldn’t remotely interest him.

Let’s not exaggerate - tielemans and schmeichel are quality although one is nearing the end of his career and the other is replaceable however players firstly will look after themselves and madders will

want to play champions league and should be doing so as he is that good!

 

Newcastle will not provide that Platform for years and he will move but not yet than less Spurs come knocking - more likely to sign a new deal - I think it maybe quiet as priority after schmeichel leaving should be tie down 2 or 3 key players - Maddison Vardy and Soyuncu !

I had a twitter spat with a Saudi FC fan who was going on about LCFC fans amusing self inflation of our clubs status. Basically laughing at the thought that we can demand such over inflated transfer fees when the money clubs come calling. We should roll over, let them steal our star players and be grateful. Still some work to be done on the image of the club.
