Interesting suggestion. Barnes has played a grand total of about 5 games for us on the right and been anonymous in most of them. I've asked for it before though as I actually think he's more dangerous a finisher and passer/crosser off his left foot weirdly so from the right he could bamboozle the opposition.

Scored against West Ham & Sheff United from the right hand side. It’s worth trying a bit more often, especially when he’s not having his best game.

It didn't

I didn't offer an opinion.

I added information that I thought may be relevant to the thread.

I was implying, with an economy of words (absent from this post), that Barnes will play (ahead of Lookman in my opinion).

Schmeichel

Ricardo Fofana Evans Castagne

Mendy

Maddison KDH

Lookman Nacho Barnes

They’re gonna be all over us like a rash.

That front three can’t defend at this level. PSV would bypass them no trouble. Recipe for disaster.

Could big Dan do the DM role?  Extra cover in front of Wes and Evans?  Or may be play Dan or Cags alongside Evans and use Wes as the DM?

Hope we play a DM ..Youri,KDH and Maddison looked stifled in the first leg, having to over concentrate on defence

Vardy to come on to take the final penalty. Doesn't need both knees to blast it down the middle.

Can remember Vardy coming on when we played Spurs at Wembley in the league when they were playing their home games there and he missed the penalty wouldn’t want that happening again

I'd say: "no, no and no"

We really missed a trick in the first leg. They played like we have for most of the season, cheap turnover of the ball, very little ability to retain possession and progress the ball, a lack of pace and sharpness.

We should go through, as we should really have been 2/3 up from the first leg, based on their performance, but I'm not confident Rodgers is capable of getting a good result away.

We've lost in Rennes....

Away at a much weakened Napoli side....

Only drew at a poor Man United....

Lost with a full strength side to a Liverpool 3rd string earlier in the season....

We will lose comfortably 2-0.

Hope you are right.  We could be very exposed without additional protection on front of the back 4.   So Hamzah it is.

Okay, joking aside, I’ve seen some negativity about this game, people panicking. You’d think we were playing Manchester City or Liverpool.

PSV are good, however they’re not better than us.

Have some belief and let’s get this job done!

Agree. Was saying on Sunday I feel more confident going here than I did to Rennes and we had a 2 goal lead. Maybe it’s the way they played but they didn’t threaten us at all, we’ve nothing to be scared of. They may just play into our hands.

I think it's probably because we've shown relegation form away from home this season and it's been equally as iffy in the cups.

I know we have improved significantly in the last few months but our away form is still way off what our home form is. Curiously it was the complete opposite last season so I wonder if we are more sensitive to the respective home/away atmospheres to drive us on or succumb. Either way it will be a vociferous game on Thursday and we need to prosper in it.

I'm quietly confident but this is a big moment for us, we have to deliver.

So if we do win and Bodo Glimt hold off Roma, we will be playing on a plastic pitch - yippee.  Will be an excellent opportunity for some nasty injuries.  I recall that is what did for Benko north of the border.

I hope Rodgers just doesn't do what he did in the first leg with Maddison and Albrighton. Most people did not notice but we maintained the 4-3-3 in the first leg, Youri playing DM and KDH and Albrighton filling up the midfield, with Maddison still on the wings

Now I get why he did it, Albrighton provides more defensive cover especially cause KDH is the most forward of the midfield trio but what he didn't see was that, it stunted out attacks, we would have been so much better with Maddison playing as the most forward of a midfield trio with KDH dropping back a bit to support Youri and still have Albrighton do his thing with Justin on the wings

I just worry that Rodgers and his overthinking situations will make him bottle this again

This is 100% winnable. Within the last few weeks, whilst losing some of our attacking flair, we've made ourselves harder to beat. PSV are good, and at times it's going to feel like we are really up against it. I was really disappointed with PSV in the first leg. I understand they came to do a specific job (similar job that we failed to do away to Liverpool or Arsenal), but i thought they were negative and sucked everything out of the game. 2nd leg will be different.

In a silly way, i feel more confident going into the 2nd leg 0-0 than i would be us being up 1-0. We have to get something out of it, and the opportunity for the players to mentally think they only have to defend won't be there.
