How anyone who's witnessed our decline under Rodgers over the hast 18 months, watched his inability to fix recurring problems and listened to his pathetic excuses didn't see this result coming I've no idea. How this fraud, remember he has form at other clubs, can be viewed as the right man to take our ambitious club forward is beyond me. Please Top, put us all out of our misery and pull the trigger in order to change the trajectory of our wonderful club.

Disappointing… we can blame the ref as much as we like but at the end of the day bad corner set up lost us the game… again.

How do you put Ricardo on Abraham when there’s half a foot difference in their height, absolute shambles.

For me, the biggest issue here is youri.

I love the guy but he's been way out of sorts all season. Tonight he did ok but when was the last time he produced a pass that made you go wow? Previously his range of passing was incredible, his vision the best I'd seen in city blue. But I can't remember the last time I felt like that player was there, and not just playing it safe back and fore.

The issue is him and KDH, whilst he’s made a midfield place his own by playing well. He’s neither creative or amazingly defensive. So you end up playing a 3 most of the time to make up for it. Difficult one.

A big ask to go to fortress Roma and hope for a sensible formation. Why not start with 3-5-2? Solid penalty not given against Smalling. Officiating poor to piss-poor. Why wasn't Fofana or Evans man marking Abrahams? That goal gave them the game.

Why take off Lookman for Nacho? Nacho just not sharp enough. Why take off KDH?

What does Tielemans actually do these days - except make sloppy or easy passes?

Positives - Fofana. Madders worked his arse off. KDH combative as ever. It's worth remembering that only one team wins the trophy - we did well to get this far.

Our last European appearance for the foreseeable future, and we have nothing positive to take from it, nothing to be proud of. We were hopeless, individually and collectively. This performance typifies our season; formulaic, predictable routines that break down easily, no creativity or spontaneity in the final third, too many poor first touches. We've failed to address our woeful defending at corners, we are leaky even with our best two CBs on the pitch.

And the officials were corrupt.

The bottom line is, we had enough games in hand to potentially still achieve Europe in the league a few weeks ago. We threw in the towel to focus on the ECL as that was our best chance. That's OK as long as you follow through with it.

To gamble everything on tonight and then put on a show like that, BR should be truly embarrassed.

In hindsight which is easy, maybe should have started matching them up in a 352 and then has Lookman Barnes etc in reserve for the last 30 or 20. But hey ho I was happy with the team as most were, but Lookman never looks good on the right and Barnes was so poor again.

Match fixing. Pure and simple. Corners, throw ins, fouls and penalties going to opposite way.

Normally I'd like to believe it isn't the case but the ref and his assistants got so many decisions wrong tonight. We were crap though. The ref didn't help but that was a stinker of a game.

As far as I'm concerned right now, apart from Fofana, every single one of those players can fvck right off.

Maybe go support West Ham or Liverpool or something

As it turned out Roma didn't even have to bribe the ref .If there are any Rogers supporters still left out there could you please tell me why ? He stank the place out yet again with his slow negative brand of shite football. You could see how it was going to go within minutes. Who put Riccy to mark Abrahams on corners? Why wasn't Evans marking him? not once but even after he scored they got another corner and the same thing happened , though he missed that time. Rogers learns nothing and if we persist with this fraud into next season we are in for a relegation scrap. Come on Top get rid asp.

There's been serious issues at this club all season, which started last Summer when we signed a load of players who now don't get in the starting XI.

Then we had injuries, but these just papered over the cracks because that was arguably our best starting team playing tonight.

We lack vision, movement and creativity hence the continuous and predictable build up play.

Tielemans has been crap for large parts of the season that leaves Maddison as our main creative spark, but he's inconsistent.

Finally, our defending set pieces is sh1t, but arguably not as bad as they are going forward.

Maddison just doesn't strike the ball hard enough and lofts it into the box, which means the defenders have too much time and if by some miracle we do make first contact, then we can't generate any power.

I'm actually not saying I want Rodgers out, but he has to make the right moves this Summer.

The last time Rangers got to a European Final, we were relegated to League 1 - this time round the worst thing is that we got beat in our first ever European Semi Final

(pointless post, but remembering what has happened since our League 1 days always makes me feel a bit better)

It is so hard to get any momentum in the game when you’re not getting a single decision that you’re due. When there’s no punishment for persistent cynical fouls there’s no incentive for Roma to stop committing them. Getting the corners and throws that you are due helps too. If we’d scored they’d have made up a non existent indiscretion to over rule it, just one big stitch up.

That’s Rodgers gone at least

Rodgers is not going  ,that was a tough game against a dirty team called Roma officials were appalling ,and we should have had a pen when FOFONA was dragged to the ground ,,we will be stronger next season ,keep the faith,

I feel we gave them too much respect some bad refereeing decisions but on the whole not too disappointed, if you said we'd be in semi final of a major European tournament 10 years ago people would have laughed at you.

A disappointing result but a step in the right direction and some thing to build on. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise, next season we can focus on the Premier league and getting European football through that route.

You sure know how to polish a turd I'll give you that.:D

I totally messed up todays job.

It's all the fault of my tools!

Ffs people blaming the ref for that hopeless shower of s#it is beyond pathetic.

Totally predictable (and predicted) but what do you expect playing the one in a milion Barnes ( has one good game in a million) and talent free Tielemans!

Claude Rodgers should be gone by the weekend but he won't be because he's a top manager and we're lucky to have him,all the experts say so.

Fed up with this boring crap and next season will be markedly worse so long as we have that stubborn failure in charge.

I know what you mean, he doesn't feel like the same player at the moment. I love the guy too, and it's so disheartening seeing his career with us just peter out like this.

I hope it is just a case of needing to replace him and bring a creative Right Winger in over the summer...but I'm just not sure how that changes our slow and sloppy play.

The midfield is your engine.

If your engine is misfiring, I'd doesn't matter how good your aerodynamics are, or if you have the quickest tyres etc etc.

It's time for him to go and I also wonder if it's time to cash in on madders too. Again, a player I like but how much impact is he actually having on games.

He's working hard, he's using bits of skill to look good, scores the occasional screamer too, but he's not able to take the game by the scruff of the neck and really impact it.

There's a quote in the film moneyball, talking about a player they lost for £7million that everyone looks at as a big superstar but if you look at the stats, he's only an average player when it comes to getting scores on the board. I do wonder if this is Madison.
