No way back for Ward now, thank goodness.

On a professional level, I feel for him. I'm sure this isn't how he saw it panning out with his multi-million pound transfer to us.

But then, on a human level....£40k a week means that I'm sure he'll be better off than most. So when it comes to things that matter in life (food, shelter etc.) he's probably more than sorted. It's not like a few fans pointing out to him that he's awful at football (and possibly being a bit mean in the process) will threaten his life.

So good luck and see you never.

The bloke has made no effort to improve and has sat on his arse collecting a yearly salary in a week. Over the past 6.5 years he has, essentially, been the guy in charge of the aux lead at parties save for playing a huge part in our relegation and some Carabao Cup heroics against sides with condemned stands.

I have categorically no sympathy for him on a professional level at all, in fact I'd argue that's where I have the least sympathy for him. The man has been paid a kings ransom to drink double rum and cokes for half a decade.

None of us faulted him as a number 2 under Kasper in fairness. And he gave a decent account of himself when he did play in the cup games and internationally for Wales.

Then not having any real pre season to start the season as a number 1 when Kasper left. It was a huge gamble and leap of faith but has pretty much tanked from then on for whatever reason. Even the attributes he was credited with have failed, looks a shadow of a goalkeeper let alone whatever we'd seen of him previous.

There is no way he was THAT bad before the relegation season, whatever anyone thinks of him. Maybe an overstatement of ability but I'm convinced something also isn't right psychologically or by attitude/application. It's a bizarre transfer story but in the best interests of everyone to cut this time as short as it needs to be

Remember the cup game v forest?

Just pay off the rest of his contract and get him nowhere near the Seagrave or the KP again. He drains the players around him, makes the opposition feel 10ft tall and can't actually save a shot. Treat it like an investment - getting rid of something that actually messes with everything else.

What a shame it was Wolves of all teams that Ward was picked to play against.  Gifted them three points and then the momentum to take to Old Trafford.  He might just have kick started their season.

Sums up everything that is wrong with the club and the mentality/culture that has developed by rewarding squad fillers extortionate long term contracts, literally making multi millionaires out of rank average players who barely play a minute in anger but also don’t want to move away from the Leicester City bosom where it’s far too comfortable . Just a few who have hung around unwilling or unable to shift over last 2/3 years, despite barely playing.

Ward

Iversen

Thomas

Choudhury

Soumare

Daka

Praet

To a degree you could also add Coady, Kelechi & Souttar to the list given last season they were bit part players at best.

10 players who have picked up massive wages over the last 2/3 seasons and contributed very little over the time. Criminal mismanagement.

My only sympathy for him is on a personal level. His confidence must be absolutely zero, he'll have had two and a half incredibly miserable years and you'd have to conclude he'll never be first choice for any club above League One for what remains of his career. A big pay cut and being third choice somewhere that wants to look as though it's produced more home grown players than it actually has beckons. That or retirement.

And it doesn't help that we seem to add a few of these at least every season. Skipp and Reid both here until at least 2029 and 2027. 🤢

All very well identifying the dead wood but the whole tree is rotten and even new expensive signings get put into the dead wood bin after a handful of games

RVN certainly listened to the fans' reaction in Ward's last outing. I think he will never wear the shirt again.

If he has managed his money well, he will never want for anything in his life, and will retire with dignity or return to Wreham, where he probably belongs.

That could mean that he's leaving.

It wouldn't be a shock.

Come to a mutual agreement to end his contract and let him go to a League One club.

If you were offered 50k a week and all you had to do for it was a have a few guys boo you once every 2 years, you wouldn't move anywhere.

So refreshing not to see a player that has stunk out the place for a few years.

Hopefully been banned from the stadium.
