Any set piece defence that consistently has the likes of Mendy or Pereira marking the opposition's primary threat has not had man marking coaching (whether they believe they have had it or not).

 

Combine Rodgers not believing in man marking with his gigantic ego and I'm pretty sure any man marking training was taken with all the enthusiasm of a fat kid eating a vegan health snack.

In the last game Amartey made a great run from the back along the right wing with plenty of grass ahead, he stops and passes back to the defence even though he’s closer to their goal. 

 

This is coming from Rodger’s, stunk out our players. 

I'm agreeing with you bud. Literally as soon as the ball comes to him he turns back towards our own goal. 9 times out of 10 he's looking backwards, totally opposite to Madison who tries to turn towards the opposition's goal.
