They did not have two Pennie’s to rub together this time last year.

moore_94 Posted 4 August 2022 Posted 4 August 2022 http://sportwitness.co.uk/player-still-interest-leicester-future-remains-unresolved-doubts-whether-hell-satisfied-season/ Player ‘still of interest’ to Leicester as future remains ‘unresolved’ – Doubts over whether he’ll be ‘satisfied’ this season Leicester City remain interested in AS Monaco midfielder Sofiane Diop, with his future at the Ligue 1 side ‘unresolved’. That’s according to L’Equipe, who report that the midfielder is ‘still of interest’ to Leicester and Borussia Dortmund this summer. They explain that although he was used very little last season, Monaco manager Philippe Clement has insisted he is counting on the player. He’s shown confidence in the player by using him in pre-season despite the fact he’s missed most of it with a thigh injury. The U21 international has not disappointed when given the chance but there is a question of whether he will be ‘satisfied’ with a possible substitute role this season. If he isn’t then that could push him to seek an exit and Leicester are one of the sides who are interested in him. Whether negotiations are underway isn’t mentioned but the interest is there nonetheless. 1

AjcW Posted 4 August 2022 Posted 4 August 2022 Can we not do a loan swap with Soumare? Neither manager particularly rates their player, but both clubs hold them in high regard value wise. A season on loan before a final call seems sensible to me. 2 1

You should replace Rudkin with ideas like this. Would actually work and benefit both teams. 2

I'm slowly coming round to soumare, so long as BR plays him in a more advanced position.

Issue is, if Praet and Tielemans both stay then where does Soumare really play? You'd think Mendy or Hamza or both would be off and then Spumare is the back up DCM to Ndidi. We've far too many central midfielders, it's jaw dropping. 1

I think we play Soumare in the home games, over Ndidi, when we're playing to win games and be creative. Personally I'd play him this weekend, but Rodgers will be more negative. Given we've got no Barnes, whoever takes his place will be more defensive minded anyway, so I think Ndidi will be a waste. 2 1

Even taking Soumare out of the equation BR has always advocated a 433, but we don't have the players to play the positions. If you had 3 x Vardys as a front 3 and penetrating opposition backlines then great, but we haven't. At least Praet, whilst long term isn't ideal, he at least fulfills that role. It just shows how disjointed our squad has become, especially out wide and up top. The players to me don't match the style BR wants to play. 1
