The one that can pass a ball and was a key player for them. He has some good strengths but also some glaring weaknesses, it’s up to our management to know his limitations and how to use him. But if we need to adjust to get a result why wouldn’t we? There will always be games where we have our backs to the wall, with 5 subs we could use a player to come on for the low block and give us a little more fight. I’m not saying he’s going to be pushing for starts… but we are stuck with him so we might as well try to get some usage. Can pass a ball but can't...defend? I'm very progressive brother but it'd be nice if he could do the fundamentals you'd expect of a centre half - and I simply don't expect a bloke who's 6'6" to be like a paper bag in a light breeze.

Scouts will know his strengths, did they not ask BR what he wanted? Easy to say with hindsight but I would have preferred them to trust in the youth team or even Hamza, hold on to the cash and find the right player in January. I see him as a permanent fixture on the bench if he stays.

He can’t run that is for sure. but defending with all the play in front of him, i think he’s got that in him. Let’s see how he gets on over the rest of pre-season because his fitness was just terrible at the start of last season. It’s always going to be a horrendous signing but i’m staying optimistic that it becomes less of a disaster than it currently is Edited 16 July 2022 by Lambert09 2

Or a complete lack of communication between our managers playing style and the recruitment team. 1

Someone said this last season, you have to wonder what goes on in some people’s minds! Players walk past him at CB, imagine what it would be like in the middle of the pitch! 🤣 1

With his range of passing and size its not the craziest idea in the world. He would actually be a good league 2 cdm.

Guest Col city fan Posted 18 July 2022 Posted 18 July 2022 To be fair to Vestergaard there HAS to be a better player in there somewhere than the one we’ve had glimpses of over the last season. He’s pretty much an ever present for his international team. I just can’t accept that we would have signed such a bad player as the one we’ve seen in a City shirt so far…? Or am I being delusional? 🤔

However, as we like the high press, failing to notice he has the pace and strength of an ailing jellyfish does seem to be quite a serious oversight.

He and Cags always seem to be on each other backs - I feel there’s no love lost there, which can’t help.
