Championship Season - 2022/2023

Recommended Posts

Despite Luton having a good season last can see them struggling next season just feel maybe last year they built on the good momentum from the previous season. This season they ended the season on a slightly weaker note despite reaching the play offs. Form did dip.

Nige is doing some proper Nige business this summer!

Kane Wilson from FGR is going to be a £20m right back in no time at all. Also Naismith on a free from Luton is incredible business given he plays basically every position bar goalkeeper.

They're spending a little too after saying there's no money, so you'd assume they've sold one of Massengo, Scott or Semenyo but not announced yet.

I hope he does well this season, he's ended up in the perfect place because they've allowed the poor form and acknowledged he needed to be allowed to have a massive clearout of overpriced crap.

They've been spending money anyway. Granted before Pearson but it was only two years ago they were spending £10m in a window.

Yeah difference is they were spending it absolutely shockingly with Mark Ashton in charge.... he's ruining Ipswich in the same way now, no idea how the fraud keeps getting jobs!

Had some rotten luck with injuries though, think half their first team was out by the end of the season, even the squad fillers were picking up injuries towards the end

I understand that he's a club legend, but if I were a Watford fan I'd be thinking that it's just for his benefit.

Would much rather have a statue of a club legend, like Vichai, than some art drawn on the side of a stand.

Swansea vs Cardiff and Watford vs Luton on same day - 22nd October.

Reckon they might beat us too.

Lost 2 attacking players and have a weak looking squad atm - certainly not promotion materiel.

Personally think that’s slightly being overstated on Burnley. Their manager needed a work permit and as did or will some of the staff.

Kit supplies have been a problem everywhere. Spoke to a Bournemouth fan today who said they haven’t unveiled a shirt and had a new signing in a training shirt.

They’ve probably kept the pre season free to allow Kompany scope to do what he wants.

The academy side is a problem but as the article shows plenty of clubs of a similar size are finding it tough to keep up in those areas.

These are just surface issues, more serious ones are when the owners are trying to take out loans to service other loans on the club and also deferring payments owed to the previous owners for unspecified reasons

Agreed on that.
