Can Anderson, Gordon etc. play at the same level against Spain, Netherlands, Argentina, France, Brazil, Uruguay. Great to have a team for flat track bully matches BUT.....against the real quality?????
davieG Posted 11 November 2025 Posted 11 November 2025 Sports bar · Follow FIFA is selling parking spots near 2026 World Cup stadiums for between $75 and $175 per spot and per gameday — more than the price of some actual match tickets at previous World Cups. A 2026 parking pass alone, at $75 in the group stage, costs more than a Category 3 ticket to any group match at the 2022 World Cup, which was $69. FIFA also launched an “official parking website” for ticket holders, yet another platform on which soccer’s global governing body will commercialize the 2026 tournament. [HenryBushnell]

[HenryBushnell] Yeh the US is expensive. I think I paid $60 return for some overcrowded shuttle bus to the f1 in Austin. No other option tho as it's a car driving nation, you can't just jump on a train

Leicesterpool Posted 11 November 2025 Posted 11 November 2025 Never get how some countries that have known huge poverty figures yet still manage to find money to get to a world cup.

Disparity of wealth my friend I used to work for a company which had a lot of ultra high net worth clients from what some would say were a traditionally poor country, most of those clients went to the world cup for the month anytime that country qualified.

Ever listened to the song Brazil by Declan McKenna? It’s basically about this and how they destroyed the social cohesion of the country so they could host the World Cup then Olympics.
Guesty Posted 11 November 2025 Posted 11 November 2025 When you look at prices for a world cup they are going to be high in the US. Concerts and sports games tickets are so, so expensive in the USA now. And depending on your city so will parking. My dad lives in Seattle and at the last MLB playoff game I think event parking at the stadium was $120-150 dollars. The main reason they charge so much is Americans will pay it. Every now and again US bands will come here and try it. Motley Crew tried it at Wembley a few years ago and the stadium was like 40% full. If you go find the photos it looks quite funny. Pearl Jam tried to charge £140 general admission a couple years ago at Spurs Stadium. And the lead singer magically came down with a last minute illness when the stadium was only 50% sold even after they'd reduced the tickets. Europeans and a lot of other countries just won't be ripped off. A few will pay it but the majority won't. It's almost like we band together, and even if we can afford it we just won't pay it on principal. Take the WWE. It was sold a few years ago to new owners. Now in the US you need something like 5 different subscriptions to watch all their shows which costs over $100 dollars a month. The rest of the world just get everything on Netflix. In America the cheapest seats at shows used to be like $40 dollars now the cheapest seats at WWE shows are like $150 for the very back seat of an arena for a weekly TV show. I think Wreslemania's cheapest seat was around $600 for the back of an NFL stadium. Then they come to Europe and Americans are annoyed that our tickets are so much cheaper. They pay crazy prices there and cause they pay them they just get charged more.
ShadowKing Posted 13 November 2025 Posted 13 November 2025 I was with someone who was one of the people to win the lottery to purchase tickets in Toronto, he waited in queue for an hour and once he got on the website, after looking around for 10 minutes, he was not able to purchase any ticket, we were seeing prices at like 1k especially the Canada matches.
JonnyZeroFox Posted 13 November 2025 Posted 13 November 2025 Can San Marino still qualify? I so want it to happen

JonnyZeroFox Posted 13 November 2025 Posted 13 November 2025 Places in this England team are up for grabs, I’ll be shocked if we treat this like a friendly… tuchel is judging players on how they fit into his system, its another chance to prove why you deserve to be picked in the summer

Alf Bentley Posted 14 November 2025 Posted 14 November 2025 France qualify for WC finals. Norway also qualify....unless they lose their last match to Italy by 9 goals. Italy look to be heading into the UEFA playoffs. Ukraine v Iceland is now a sudden-death match for a playoff place: Ukraine need to win, Iceland need a draw. Cameroon eliminated by a last-minute goal v. DR Congo, who now face Nigeria this weekend to decide which African nation makes the 6-team inter-continental play-offs. Good 1-1 draw for Iraq in the away leg of their playoff v. UAE. Winner over 2 legs makes inter-continental play-offs. Suriname now favourites to qualify directly after tonking El Salvador 4-0, though Panama or Guatemala could still catch them. 4
