Maddison acting the role in his last game, he sees himself in the role, good to see a player with a bit of fire in him. He seems to want to have a say in everything out there. Not sure he is the right person, but he seems to think that he is.

Evans with Dewsbury-Hall as Vice. Let the lad learn the ropes

 

Edit: on reflection maybe Madders gets in ahead of KDH. One way to tie him to the club

What is clear is we need leaders to step up all over the pitch this season. On the days when both Vardy and Evans were out injured it was obvious we didn’t have the players to step up in that role.

I think this is where I was most disappointed with players like Soyuncu who needed to step up and lead but didn’t. 
When everyone is fit we have leaders all over the park Ricardo, Evans, Castagne, Tielemans, Vardy - we need the likes of Maddison, Ndidi, Fofana to now step up in this regards.

KDH shows he has got the ability to lead in way that Wes Morgan did, let his football do the talking, but, it’s possibly come a year or so too early for him. 
I think giving it to Maddison could see him step up that bit more, similar to when Villa gave Grealish the armband. Let him know he’s our main man now, and we will build the team around him.

 Vardy for me he’s a true leader give him to finish his playing career with us he’s definitely deserved the captaincy for his loyalty to the club, never agreed with a goalkeeper being captain would rather see an outfield player running things !

Depends what you want from your captain. 

 

If its to be a symbolic powerhouse then Vardy. Ask anything else of him other than setting an example then his game will drop. I'm never fond as a striker as captain, they have 1 job without baggage, score goals.

 

A senior player should get the role though and looking at an on the pitch leader with experience to organise, then Evans, Tielemans the logical choices for me. The rest can not quite command enough respect (especially amongst the senior heads and egos), which Kasper and Wes did.

Either way, Evans is the vice-captain, so it would be him, with Vardy taking Evans' then vacated role.

I wonder if Schmeichel even considering a move could be grounds to refresh the captaincy. 

 

He'll clearly be off next year if not this so perhaps as good a time as any.

My kids love Maddison, he's a likable guy..... they'll only watch the games if Maddison on TV and is about to score. I suppose all the players like him aswell , he'll be ideal. I'll stop other clubs trying to poach him if he feels he's got a future here.

It's good your kids like maddison... but he is not leadership material.   I liked alex Higgins but he wasn't leadership material either.  It is not a popularity contest.... its about the moral imperative of leadership

There is no I in team. I dont dislike him at all.  I just dont think he would go into bat for team causes
