Looks like the team is:

Ward

Amartey

Evans

Fofana

Castagne

Tielemans

Ndidi

KDH

Justin

Maddison

Vardy

Why on earth would we play 3 at the back at home to dog mess like Brentford and go 3-5-1-1 instead of 3-4-1-2?

Also what's the incentive of Tielemans sorting his future out if we're just going to play our hand with him. It's not even cutting our nose off to spite our face, his form last season makes him no longer guaranteed first choice which I'm staggered I'm saying it but I'd show him he's in danger of being in no position to go to Qatar being match ready.

Source? I will be annoyed if true if we are playing 3 at the back you would at least expect it to free up a forward position for Nacho or daka

Shame that in the current circumstances no one would take us seriously if we started putting out rumours, or even made a derisory offer, for Ivan Toney. Just to unsettle him. Just like Man City do to our players just before we play them. We need to improve in the dark arts.

Guaranteed we’ve done things like this over the years, guaranteed we’ve done that this summer! Just maybe not as public.

Every club will be at it, we will be in players ears right now behind the scenes.

6 defensive players (7 with the keeper) at home to Brentford. Surely not?!

Seeing some horrendous starting line ups here.

For me:

                      Iversen

Castagne Fofana Evans Justin

                       Ndidi

             Youri            KDH

                    Maddison

           Kelechi          Vardy

I wouldn’t be surprised if Brendan matches them and goes 5-3-2. Also wouldn’t be shocked if either Fofana or Youri are left out until after the transfer window.

Why would you not play Fofana for the first five games??????

Revised line up

Iverson

Justin Evans Soyunchu Castagne

Mendy Praet

KDH Madison Soumare

Vardy

Same same but different Leicester City

Why have you dropped Fofana?
Why has one player gained a h and another has lost an s?
Show some respect😉

I get the negativity going into this season but I really don't get the level of negativity.

We finished 8th last season carrying a hospital ward and European football.

With players fit again and no European football i genuinely think we're in a better position going into this season squad wise.

I mean we're already 2 players out injured, no incomings and are naming 5 defenders, a defensive midfielder and 3 central midfielders in a home game vs dog muck like Brentford. You're going to get negativity and you're going to get other fans putting a brave face on. The truth is, we're treading water and we've just got to hope we've still got a lot of proving people wrong left to do.

Where have you heard the team from? I'd be much happier with live scores prediction

So, 7 defensive players on the first day, really going for it again eh Brendan? Let's hope not against Brentford eh?

Have a feeling the theme of the game will be Madison getting hacked down and how much the ref tolerates. Brentford seemed pretty irate at him last time, feeling he’d dived to win the FK he scored from and I think there will be some attempted retribution.

Considering we have no talent on the wings available (who could have predicted that!?) we’re going to see a lot of 5 defender lineups. We can only get width with our full backs/wing backs.

Or play a different way?

Diamond?

Far too sensible and achievable. Albeit the first game of the season we really have got to get out of the attitude of just trying not to lose rather than trying to win. It's a fantastic opportunity to prove the pundits wrong. We've some real talent in our squad if used to It's full potential despite what our detractors say. Compare our team against that of Brentford and you should reasonably expect to win. Whilst acknowledging that you can always get a bloody nose, you should at least be looking to attack teams like this and not pack your team full of defensive players.

I get the feeling from the pre season interviews that we intended to play mainly with Castagne or Ricardo on the right wing. Barnes on the left. With the wing play being a little more creative. However with both Ricardo out and Barnes injured, we are likely to use wing backs in a back 5.

Should be OK if the wing backs play further up in offence and drop back when defending. Justin looks fit and sharp in pre season.

Back 5 doesn't necessary mean the team is set up with caution. Probably just utilising what we have available to give us the best chance of 3 points.

I’m convinced we’ll win and win comfortably but it really is a crucial games as is southampton. With our other opening fixtures a do fear things could turn toxic pretty quickly if we don’t get wins or at least a win in those two games

Think Southampton look awful so expecting 3 points. We have better players all over the pitch.

Arsenal will be a tough game and not expecting anything. Chelsea and Man Utd however we have a chance for points.

6 points from the first 5 games is ok considering the fixtures. But I think we will be surprised with possibly 9 or 10.
