I know mate, only joking, but that's an impressive list.

Was it a job you did?

No, just met Ian brown outside a gig in Oxford when he was solo, maybe around 2007, he was so sound invited me and my then missus backstage before the gig for a mars bar (was surprised it was actually a Mars bar and not a euphemism), from there any time I went to a gig (was a big fan) I'd wrangle my way back stage and have a chat, got on his guest list for the big roses come back shows, and that's where I met majority of people, Jack Whitehall, Liam G, Chris moyles. Met Jonathan Ross in a chippy in swanage when I was a kid, loads of other less famous people backstage at that Roses gig, sex pistols players, primal scream, Liam G was just wandering about like a pig in the proverbial, they are his favourite band and dunno what he was on but something well beyond the realms of a drop of Charlie.

Oh, I completely forgot actually...

Does anyone remember Sumo Bar on Braunstone Gate?

We had some big acts play...Ocean Colur Scene, The Twang, Jack Penate (he was lovely), Reverend and the Makers...

One constant of all these gigs was Tom and Serge from Kasabian. Just as they were making it big.

It actually got a bit embarrassing, walking through The Shires, seeing Serge walking the other way and him going "Alright" lol

Stephen Graham in a cafe in Ashby de la zouch. Didnt speak to him as he looked like he was enjoying his fry up

Doesn't count as not speaking to him is not actually meeting him. Check the thread title.

Was on stage alongside Paul Daniels many years ago. I was follow-spot operator for Acker Bilk and Brotherhood of Man and Showaddywaddy, back in the day. A mate of mine back then, nicked Acker Bilk's velvet jacket from backstage.

You need to be of a certain age to know these names.

What an odd name is Acker Bilk!

Also had touchline bants with Owen Farrell, Vunipola, Sam Underhill, Manu Tuilangi when I was Paramedic cover at Tigers and Northants, all very nice gentleman.

Spoke to our own JV in  the tunnel pre-match as well as Kasper and once briefly to Wes Morgan and Jose Mourihno when I was part of the paramedic response team for the players.

Not friends with any of them, suppose Ian brown closest thing to a famous mate, was on the guest list at Heaton Park and will be going backstage for a bit at rock City in October. But definitely more famous people about people have met than Ian brown or Liam gallagher, though obviously with his recent resurgence Liam is a big star.

Saw Liam play Perth on Saturday.  He has still got it.

Loads, but all in the 60's & 70's.

Pete Townshend, regularly, as our parents were best mates so I also met Keith Moon at a party at Pete Townshends house.

My dad was in the entertainment business and I met Frankie Vaughan numerous times and every year in the late 60's early 70's he'd put a £1 on for me on City to win the cup, he was a nice bloke and loved his football. Ronnie Barker and Dave Allen also came to our house. I met Larry Grayson loads of times and went to his house in Nuneaton with my dad for tea.

I worked in a shop in the early 70's and Joanna Lumley was a regular customer, she's absolutely fabulous! Michael Ben tine and Rod Hull were also regular customers, Rod was bonkers god bless him.

In '77 I worked in a rock club and met Johnny Rotten and Sid Vicious they were both down to earth, no pretentions and The Pistols were amazing live. I also met Gaye Advert (and fell in love with her) Elvis Costello and Gary Holton who was a great laugh. In 1978 I faded into obscurity and never met anyone famous ever again.

Dave Gilmore who asked us to make room for him and his party at the Crooked Billet pub in Stoke Row. It was just after the Live Aid Wembley concert and they were discussing that, not that my ears were flapping at all; just they were sat rather close to us. Those were the days before mobile phones when fairly famous people could go out and not be hassled. You would see quite a few well known folk out and about around the Berkshire/Oxfordshire border.

Fabulous pub 😍. Used to live nearby and we always loved going there.

Stephen Fry - was a long time ago and he was a bit of a pain, but then again, so was I.

Jon Lord - I really should get brownie points for meeting a bona fide great from Leicester. We had a full half hour without interruption after Purple did a gig in Manchester in 2002 (I think) and he busted the myth about never meeting your heroes - he could not have been a nicer human being if he'd tried to.

We had Guillem Balague as a guest turn when we had a business in Spain. Very sociable guy, who logically knew a lot of Spanish sports commentators. Likes his Guinness. Lucky to meet him there, as he seems to spend most of his time in the UK.

Not too many if we're not including footballers.

I saw Jimmy Carr in St Pancras Station a couple years back.
