A hero on and off the field.

One of Leicester's greatest ever and the most incredible keeper some of us would have ever seen in a Leicester shirt.

Several memorable moments to savour. It will be a very long time before we have someone as loyal and talented in between the sticks...

Thank you and good luck at Nice!

No, but the weird obsession with Rep points drives people doesn't it.

You're in absolute denial if you think he's not leaving lol

Funny and ironic those who mention rep are probably the ones who want it the most. Couldn't give a shit lol

Part of me is a bit sad it's come now and wasn't announced at the end of last season. Would have given him a great send off in the final home game

Yeah, this feels really fvcking seismic.

Along with Vardy, he's been such a constant, that I kind of struggle to envision the club without them as part of it... Inevitable as it is.

479 appearances. Our third highest appearances in the history of the club. It's likely we'll never see anyone reach those kind of numbers again.

Legend doesn't even cut it.

Still ****s me off that he wasn’t credited with the last minute equaliser against Yeovil. Was one of the best headers you’re likely to see as well.

Simply put. What a stunning keeper and servant he’s been for us. Let’s not forget the part we played for him too. Struggled to find a home or a stable place in the team before coming here, don’t think he wanted to come initially either, but it didn’t work out bad did it. Kasper is Leicester City at this point, a goal mouth is 24ft wide, but it will look a hell of a lot bigger without Schmeichel stood between the posts.

If he does go he should have nothing but plaudits.

He's  one of our GOATs and has won everything  domestically with us.

It's been a match made in heaven.

Good luck Kasper and thanks.

Good luck to Kasper. Sad day but this is football. He's a legend and he'll be back taking another position in our club after he retires.

I would really like to see an interview of him for the reasons he's chosen Nice. I'm happy that he didn't move to another PL team. Part of me wants to believe that it would be extremely difficult for him to play against us. Even thinking of a 1-on-1 situation between Kasper and Vardy makes me feel very uncomfortable.

Our club must arrange a friendly game next summer vs Nice and ask for a special permission to have Kasper playing for both teams, one half each.

As others have said, would absolutely love it if he became a manager and came back to manage us.

Seems intelligent enough to do a good job tactically and nobody can question his passion and grit.

Truly a legend and one of the best shot stoppers the Premier League has ever seen.

Leicester City will feel a lot less Leicester City while we get used to life after him. Can only think of Vardy as a more iconic player for us during what will go down as the best period in the history of our club.

Comes across as a very intelligent guy and I think he has picked the right time to leave. Doesnt want to outstay his welcome and theres a young Dane to follow in his footsteps.Good luck to him and his family.

Rough how it looks like another stalwart we may not get chance to thank and say goodbye with.

We seems to let the likes of Huth, Morgan, Simpson, Fuchs all slip away with out much fuss.

Would like to think we do something for the all at some point?

I never saw this coming until the rumours started to circulate last week but good luck to the great Dane in France/Ligue 1. It will be interesting to see how he takes to the new challenge there this season. Meanwhile thanks for 11 years of mostly great memories Kasper ref gaining a Championship winner's medal, a Premier League winner's medal, an FA Cup winner's medal and a Charity Shield winner's medal, wow! When Sven signed him in 2011 ..... "who'd have thunk it?!"
