From what I was told by someone who works at the king power was that Vichai was having a bit of a rant after the match saying Pearson has to go, a reporter overheard it and ran with the story. Vichai later calmed down and did nothing. The club was then taking by complete surprise when later that evening sky sports started reporting that Pearson had been sacked.

Perhaps someone can leak a story about Pearson's 3rd Tenure. A reporter can overhear. Next thing Sky, announce Nigel III and the club has no choice but to follow through otherwise they look daft. Also, King Power reshaped to look like a big white trainer.

I think right now there needs to be a lot of people answering some very difficult questions in Tops office.
The obvious place to start is with Brendan, but Rudkin, Whelan and anyone else in a leadership position at the club.

Behind the scenes something has changed massively in the last 12 months.  It wasn’t that long ago everything the club touched was turning to gold - the new training ground, stadium expansion plans, just won an FA Cup for the first time in our history and embarking on another European tour.
Every week now appears to get more and more negative, nothing has gone right on or off the pitch for a while and now we’re in a position where we have no new players, no it sure what’s going on with the expansion amongst other bizarre off field things the club is doing right now.

Somewhere along the chain some heads do need to start rolling and I think we need some honest answers from the top about what exactly is going on.

I think he is ruthless enough, he sacked Puel barely months after the helictopter crash.

I’m assuming Top will have a feel on what the morale of the players is like and therefore deciding if it’s BR or a whole mixture of things.

I think Rodgers future will be decided on the outcome of the Villa home game on 10th September. It’s not inconceivable we lose that and have only 1 point from the opening 7 games.

Absolutely spot on. The playing side is not great right now but we still have good players. The financial side looks to be a complete dog's dinner though. We're simply not raising anywhere near enough off field revenue to be funding our spending and that can only lead in one direction.

I'm not even sure how much of a difference replacing Brendan would make unless he's lost the dressing room. Top managers want to join either ambitious clubs with decent prospects and decent funding  or good young managers on their way up perhaps want a club at rock bottom they can turn round and we're neither of those.

We're certainly not the decent prospect we were seen as just two or three years ago.

The recruitment issue also looks bad for encouraging new players to join. Who, of top quality would want to join us at this moment in time.

Spot on. In a short space of time the club have created a disconnect from the fans. This isn't irreparable though and could be fixed if the club just gave a bit more insight and clarity to the fans. Accountability seems to be a real issue at the moment but I think we're entitled to know who's to blame for what and what we intend on doing to fix it

Of course KP have been great for us but I agree they’re not really giving us any information about why we’re not signing anyone and what’s up with the lack of signings.

Instead we’re largely given cryptic dribs and drabs from Rodgers in press conferences and from journalists on twitter.

I think we’d all just really like some statement or something from the board about the realities of the financial situation at the club.

As every week goes past this summer it feels more and more like “we just need to reduce our squad size, we’ll sell to buy” is not the whole story. Rodgers saying recently in a press conference he’s not expecting anyone in by the end of the summer, all while we’re possibly getting rid of Fofana, Soumare and Tielemans for £100mil+ combined was a little worrying to me. Not convinced any of that money if those players do go is being reinvested in the squad.

Not many club’s fans who wouldn’t be outside the ground and demanding answers right now like we aren’t. Of course Top and KP have earnt that, but it’s hard not to think there’s definitely something going on behind the scenes which we’re not getting answers about.

Why do a majority feel theres a secret remedy to managing a football club, people feel blaming BR is the easiest way to solve it when in reality i dont think he is the real problem at all, he hasnt changed the style of football or his attitude on the pitch and to me it feels like hes very supportive of his players and has a honest approach with his management towards them hes won us the FA cup and got us to a european semi so why the sudden drop in form?

Maybe its just because the current roster of players have just ran out of steam and hunger to make top 4 after just missing out twice and maybe the players are just not good enough, Tielemans and Fofana is a massive red flag with regards to the modern day footballer claming to have more power than the club, well.. regarding to the media that is that constantly wants to vilify and make outrageous claims for the sake of views and £ so i porefer to ignore until solid statements actually come out.

Is it the clubs way of business from up top that is way out of its depth now that the PL is evolving season by season and are the owners too arrogant in thinking this business model is sustainable? i do like it but football is changing into a cash cow powerhouse and the way LCFC is going its best suited for the Dutch league or german.

I feel for BR i dont think hes solely to blame and i feel he will go sooon and then what, well replace him with another manager? rinse and repeat not a solution. If you want the club to consistently make moves forward you need to heavily invest and the more this goes on im afraid we are destiend to remain the same.

the new Southampton club model.

I do wonder if someone is tasked with gauging fan opinion from forums and social media to report back or if they simply go from reactions in the crowd at matches and MSM.

I'd definitely say someone from the club will be keeping the hierarchy informed of opinions and feelings  from all forms of social media including this forum

Pearson was never officially sacked at any point according to the man himself

I actually see what you’re saying here. There was a decision up top that this club should invest in both a new training ground and stadium expansion. Both, I think in the long run are needed. It seems the belief was the football side would take care of itself.

The reality is, as a club in this division to not make one signing is embarrassing and huge mismanagement. It’s unacceptable. We are living with it but the reality is, the executive board should never had let the club get into this position.

For a club who seemed to be ran so professionally for so long, this summer has certainly highlighted inexperience and errors in approach.

Whenever he pulls the trigger, the media will chastise him for it - they all love rodgers

and the narrative that he wasn’t backed will be front and centre ….

Can't be any worse than when we sacked Ranieri, if anything that hostility in the press might give the new mob and the players the fcuk you attitude that's needed to shake us in to life, likewise our board and even Top. Hatred and anger can be glorious when channeled in the right way.

Yes he is. But you can understand the hesitance due to the sheer amount of money behind Rodgers. I fully expect Top to drag Rodgers into his office this week for tea and biscuits without the biscuits…….

And then if nothing changes, which it won’t then he will get booted.

The press never understood the ranairi situation.  It was sad but those of us watching the football suported the decision
