16 goals conceded in 6 games says there is not really much point in turning up. We might score three goals, maybe once a season. That'd be just about enough to scrape a draw.

Whilst the idea of Barnes is a wing back is glorious, it'll never happen. He has the worst defensive work rate in the squad.

If you're looking for ways to get him into the team I reckon KDH theoretically could make a half-decent wing back. Technically not great but he's a far better athlete than Thomas and unlike our other options there he's actually left-footed. Probably a bad idea but maybe not any worse than Soumare at DM or Thomas and Ndidi at centre back today.

As much as I like KDH, he's not good enough to force in to the team out of position or change the shape just for his benefit. 

 

His time will come, there's no reason to force it.

 

Both KDH and Barnes will probably have to face some rotation this year but with five subs every game I'd expect them to he involved every week whether they start or not.

I've been saying for years he isn't good enough to be first choice in the Prem tbh.

I like this. There were lots of positives from our forward play today, but a defensive abomination. Hopefully Faes can put a lightning rod up everyone’s arse
