It has been bad enough for us… think what it must have been like for the players. They aren’t “spineless” they are worn down. We know what they are capable of :scarf:

This is gonna sound crazy BUT what if?

what if we ‘somehow’ best villa? Are we ready for that scenario? It could happen

its a long shot but could happen

can we back it up with a draw at spuds?

and then a moral boosting win against forest. Stranger things have happened!

(just trying to be an optimist lol)

Of course this could happen but we require a change in mentality and belief. We know that the players we have can play at that level but a swift change in mindset coming from the leadership is required. Make no mistake this really is needed right now. The longer it goes on the deeper engrained the problem becomes.

Crazy we have such a big squad but with seemingly limited options

Not that big. With the current crop we could name 23 of 25, if we didn't register Bertrand and Ricardo due to injury, so two spaces clear.

Jesus Christ. Chelsea West Ham VAR man refereeing the game

Doesn't matter though because a top 6 club isn't involved.

If Rodgers is still here the fans will be toxic, especially if we go a goal down or Villa equalise in any way. The Man Utd game was probably the first time I’ve ever seen the crowd not roar when the stoppage time got announced, whilst we were still in to get something from the game, nothing, not a shred of hope. I remember if the opposing team scored, the roar from our fans to kick off and get back into it was pretty vociferous too, that’s also gone.

I just hope that if it is toxic, that it can be done in a way that the players are left crystal clear that it is aimed purely at the manager and not them.

Long loud chants of 'Rodgers Out' and 'You don't know what you're doing' would be a start.

Anything supportive of the team and Top to be included as well.

Brendan after match comments following 3 nil defeat to Villa

” You know I do blame the Villa travelling support for getting over excited every time they got in to our final third which really made our defensive guys anxious, it really doesn’t help  “

You know seeing as Rodgers is a dead man walking , why should our players take anymore notice of him? They are ,as we know, much better than they have shown this season. So they should go out there and play the way they know is best for them and more or less tell Rodgers to put his notebook in a place where the sun doesn't shine.

I’m not sure, collectively, they would know the best way to play now. I’m sure, mostly, that they aren’t deliberately trying to lose. You’d think, if it was that easy, they would have ignored the knob by now and gone their own way.

The Daka goal was a classic defeat the press goal and Man. Utd. undid Arsenal the same way. If Jonny and the defense pullback 15 yards and our strikers hold back onside until the long pass is hit, Daka and Barnes are too fast for most defenders. This requires timing and brains and very few passes once in possession. If you break through once it will unsettle any defence. Guardiola says this isn't the way to play football only because Man.City are caught time and time again. There is no one way to play the game but possession for possessions sake is one of the worst methods.

Well, yes, indeed that. However, I don’t think the players collectively know how to do that anymore because of their indoctrination into Brendan ball. It will need another manager to come in a free them.

I only go to a few home games a season - as budget allows. Really not sure I wanna spend my hard earned on this after the Southampton shambles.

The day out now is £100 really if you're buying a ticket for the match and having a few beers. Even when we were doing well it'd be hard to justify in the current climate. Now it'd be verging on insanity.

I purchased a ticket yesterday.
