Villa - Postponed

Recommended Posts

Seriously gonna lose all faith in our owners if this absolute fraud is still in charge. Completely pointless exercise giving him x amount more games. We have all seen more than enough to know he has no place here anymore and that we are heading to the championship.

We need a new manager, a new attitude and 3 bloody points.

Back to basics

mendy in a double pivot (with wilf due to his height at set plays) to protect the back four - yes four - the 3 was dreadful - too many bodies and no one actually doing any marking

Castagne and JJ at full back

the rest can be whatever it’s wants to be

the only target is a clean sheet

This is a great opportunity to win and for 2 reasons it means Rodgers cannot be the manager:

1) Given the atmosphere and lack of confidence I think he’s probably the worst possible person to be managing this game for us.

2) A win against one of the worst sides in the league at home cannot be a reason to give a manager who is on a terminal 12+ month decline yet more time

I won’t be going if Rodgers is still the manager.

Yep exactly. And if Rodgers was still in place and miraculously got a win it wouldn't change what's gone on over the last 18 months. We'd still be a mess. Fully expecting him to leave before the game though.

..although not a fan of the back three!!!

                Iversen

Faes        Evans        Soyuncu

               Ndidi

Castagne  Maddison   KDH  Barnes

         Nacho    Daka

We either play with wingbacks or Barnes need to work and put in a shift. We get the majority of players where they want/need to play.

A few simple tactical changes will make a huge difference. Pressing from the front, Daka and Nacho were letting Brightons CBs walk into our half. They only starting pressing from the front in the last 10 minutes.

Quickly out from the back looking to get forward.

No Amartey or Wilf to be the cbs who are responsible for starting off attacks out the back.

Wilf or Mendy as DM instead of Soumare. No Thomas, no Ward.

Quick out the back, as we saw with Youri’s pass to Daka.  We can score when we attack quickly. Maddison and Youri need to get the ball first time and turn rather than taking an age then they are closed down, yet they still pass to them under pressure and it ends up back and side to side.

if Rodger’s is still here it will be more of the same.

This is a 9 pointer!!!!

Anything other than a win and we are in serious serious trouble as the gap to many above us and primarily safety is 4-6pts when we will have had 1 draw or 2 at most.  With Forest and Leeds to follow not too far after.

They have to get some confidence and some belief they can win games and perhaps keep the ball out of the net!!!

C'mon Lestah 2 or 3-1!!!

One of the easiest team selections to me.

                  Iversen

     Amartey Evans Faes

Justin                        Castagne

          Tielemans   KDH

                  Maddison

       Iheanacho     Daka

I’ll accept Ndidi for big Dan, and Soumare for KDH.

Brendan will probably go Ward in goal, Thomas at lcb and Vardy in for Daka.

At this point Rodgers must really be wondering what more he can do to get the boot. His tactical master strokes against the might Brighton literally tore us to shreds. Actual genius at work there.

If he hasn’t been sacked before Villa, then he will need to pull out all the stops to make certain.

Expect another limp nob performance where we get rolled over and embarrassed. Any signs of fight will be stamped out by baffling substitutions. We will lose and you all know it.
