Chukwueze isn't first choice at Villarreal now and Cornet has barely played for West Ham - get one of them lined up straight away for the 1st of January. Rayan Cherki or Faivre at Lyon are options too. Unfortunately those players make too much sense Expect a deadline day punt on someone like Boga again 1
jimsmallman Posted 17 October 2022 Posted 17 October 2022 I've watched him a few times this season in person for Orlando City, but I'd love to see us sign Pedro Gallese. Imposing goalkeeper, martials a terrible defense in front of him pretty well.

We also need to improve our depth! 3 CB’s contracts are expiring in the summer and Vestergaard is surplus to requirements. Hopefully Evans extends for another year though. Shortlist: Dawson - Experienced leader, wants to move to the Midlands, West Ham fans love him which is a good sign. Zeno DeBast - 18 year old Belgian international from Anderlecht. He’s the sort of player we would go for I reckon. Niakhate - Could be a cheap option if Forest go down. Similar attributes to Faes, aggressive on the pitch and was a leader for Mainz. 2

Truth is we're not going to sign anyone unless we offload some players off the wage bill or sell Maddison. Our playing wage bill is still far too high.

Won't happen under this manager though. ....he has recently been talking him up as if we all have forgotten what he had previously said, was the reason he was not playing him!!! Do not be surprised if Soyuncu comes back into the team, he is apparently carrying an injury at the moment so it will not be the next game. Rodgers is very much like Boris, he just hopes that you do not look back too deeply into his previous utterings. Apparently, he wasn't seeing enough from him (Caglar) in training and that was the reason why Caglar was constantly on the bench behind Amartey and even Vestergaard. Rodgers's recent utterings are that he is a great chap, and a model pro, which is it !!! I believe the new coach is having an effect on Rodgers, and not just going with what he (Rodgers) says. When someone new comes in and sees glaring problems, and then decides to point them out, you (Rodgers) have to be seen to be addressing them.
Ric Flair Posted 23 October 2022 Posted 23 October 2022 The thought of Maddison and Tielemans departing in the next year fills be with dread but two young French midfielders are having immense seasons so far in Enzo Le Fee and Fares Chaibi, both worth keeping an eye on.

Same. If Maddison and Tielemans are departing next Summer then you'd hope we would be looking at bringing those kind of young replacements in during the January window. Otherwise there's no bedding in period. 1

You have to remember when they came one was a talent from the Championship with no PL pedigree the other a failure in Ligue 1. Look at Wout Faes, there are good players out there for decent fees, it just about having your recruitment model right. Edited 23 October 2022 by coolhandfox 2

The main thing we can learn from more recent transfers - don’t get players from the premier league! 1

Next summer should see our wage bill drop quite abit with the amount of contracts expiring. Tielemans Soyuncu Amartey - maybe a new contract as a back up Perez Evans - I think we’d be stupid to renew, he’s 35 in January and is starting to show signs he’s past his best Mendy - good option but I’m sure we can find someone cheaper Bertrand Hopefully we can offload Vestergaard as well. There’s a few players that’ll only have a year left as well that we could look at selling. Iheanacho, Praet and Maddison Edited 24 October 2022 by Lcfc-1992

Le Fee ,Fares and Faes in the same team? Commentators nightmare😄 1
Nick Posted 25 October 2022 Posted 25 October 2022 January outgoings then... Tielemans? Maybe he'll see it out now for a big sign on fee somewhere else rather than us getting a few quid in January? Perez? Soyunco? Mendy? Can't see us selling Amartey - he's a utility err rock of sorts but probably not a solid enough rock... hmm. 1

Sol thewall Bamba Posted 25 October 2022 Posted 25 October 2022 Youri will sign a pre-contract somewhere in Jan but even LCFC won't be dumb enough to let him leave 6 months before he has to.

Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 25 October 2022 Posted 25 October 2022 Need a centre back and a right winger. At the very least. Top needs to stump up the cash because it cannot be FFP anymore. The club running sustainably is just bollocks.
