The squad has needed a refresh for 18 months or so. If you stand still in this league this is the result. The spine of the team is not there - no able goalkeeper, Evans is finished, Ndidi is a mess and Tielemans wants out, Vardy looks done too.

After some of the transfer dealings done the previous seasons with him, I would have told him to work with what he has, still cant believe we got in Bertrand and Vestergard let alone Soumare and I'm still not convinced with Daka.

We needed 6 new players to repeat previous seasons. But we've got enough in our squad if they were coached better to not be rooted to the bottom of the league. Rodger's is just shifting the blame, I wouldn't buy into it.

The falling off a cliff from the likes of Ndidi and Barnes is alarming but these are good players and Rodgers should be getting more out of them. I think we only needed 2 or 3 quality first teamers not including replacements for Kasper and Fofana.

It’s all very divide and rule. Pathetic really.

He said we needed 6 new players and it seems we do. I don’t like Rodgers and want him gone, but I don’t envy the new manager with these bottle jobs. Zero backbone

Who's turned them into that? They've been making the same basic errors for 18-24 months that any competent manager would have coached out of them in a pre-season and now they're obviously calamitous as they have lost confidence that the errors will ever stop. Also the signings he has made have not improved in any position.

I would argue Brendan's personality and character flaws are perfectly reflected by the team.

Don’t think we needed so many and he was wrong to say it in public / unprofessional. He said it as another reason to show the world it’s not his fault.

in reality we needed:

New GB

New LB

New CB

New RW

He was wrong, we didn't need anything close to six new players, we needed four (and two of those would've been replacements for Schmeichel and Fofana). Had we signed Lookman and another winger, our squad would've been perfectly adequate to push for a European spot. We also have a group of players that can't seem to get a look in, they just need to be managed better. Perez, Iheanacho and Soyuncu are three players in particular that need to utilised in my opinion. They are all good enough on their day, and would walk into the first team of most other Premier League clubs.

Yes and it would be disingenuous to say otherwise. Just for the mental side of it. We’ve got a lot of players that have been here for a while who will be comfortable, same routines, etc etc. Need a few like Faes (and with ability) with a hunger, seeing Leicester as their next step, their chance to really push on in their career to put their mark on the team and freshen up those that remain.

New manager will also freshen it up but it won’t last long until you get a turnover of the playing squad imo. Players will move on and show their talent elsewhere because they will get the jolt of fresh mental stimulation in another environment. Ndidi looks a prime candidate for that.

But it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be doing better and that it excuses the manager. Tbf, Brendan looks like a man who needs a mental refresh as well. In fact talk of fighting on just sounds like a man diving deeper into the burnout hole.

Think not of the players having zero backbone, or not being of sufficient quality (because they are), think more of why. Look around our training ground at the remnants of discarded players for clues.

Rodgers wasn't, isn't and probably never will be right in this respect. He blames the players for the failings of his tactics. He sucks the confidence and desire from them. He creates a destructive environment with his pursuit of his perfect game.

I fear since the departure of Huth, Big Wes and now Kasper we have no leaders. Jonny is softly spoken. Vards is not a leader. The rest are just kids to be honest. Arguably the player with the most leadership potential is Maddy. He's the one who fronts up to the media and seems to have some character and intelligence. He is also a brilliant player. I'd make him captain and hope that the responsibility is the making of him. Let's hope Wout has some leadership potential too

He fooked up slagging them

off after Forest.

Then trying to rely on players to keep you in a job.

Not to mention the players in transfer/contract limbo that effect the toxic vibe in the dressing room.

Mendy

Soyuncu

Youri

Praett

Jaws

Soumare

Kasper whilst here

Sorry, but we have at least midtable quality everywhere except between the sticks. And we arguably have it there too if Iversen gets game time and continues to make the progress he did at PNE last season.

Let's think of a sensible lineup.

Iversen - POTY at Preston last season and still young enough to improve.

Soyuncu - Will be like a new signing if the new manager comes in, rebuilds his confidence and gets him back to 19-20 levels.

Evans - Experienced old head who's been instrumental in both Soyuncu and Fofana's best form.

Faes - Highly rated by one of the best international sides in the world. Good on the ball and strong in the tackle.

Ndidi/Soumare/Mendy - A difficult position to fill as the former is wildly inconsistent, the second is tough to judge and the latter is injury prone. Any are good enough on their day though.

Justin - Hasn't played for England for no reason. Hasn't been the same since his injury, but then neither has the team.

KDH/Tielemans - Breakthrough season last season. Could be excellent. Tielemans is absurdly talented on his day.

Maddison - On the verge of world class and criminally treated by Southgate. One of the best midfielders in England right now.

Castagne- Another of the Belgian contingent. Good going forward and pacey, with ability on the ball.

Daka - Terrifying pace and great finisher. Needs to up decision making, but has Vardy on hand to help with that - and he's one of the best in the business.

Iheanacho- Uncanny goals to game rate. Lethal on form.

He purportedly does, and he says he likes to do it. I think we saw that evidenced yesterday; he was directing players around, pointing etc.
