It just makes absolutely no sense to me. Bottom line we have to cut costs going forward, we most certainly can't afford to pay a manager £10m a year long term to adhere to financial restrictions and that would still be a factor even of Rodgers was still doing OK here. But when you consider just how badly he has now gotten us, that we are now in that time frame of where managers seldom achieve anything and that the longer he stays here, the more he costs us, I just do not see why we still aren't willing to get rid of him. Especially when you factor in the very real possibility of relegation, the financial nightmare and the distinct likelihood that Brendan wouldn't be kept on anyway as we simply couldn't pay him £10m a year in the Championship even if Top still was besotted with him.

Just get rid of him, no hard feelings. Astonishing how much they were willing to treat Pearson as ruthlessly as they have done and Ranieri and yet this little fella is cock of the walk with no consequence.

My last sliver of hope and faith in the board is that there is something in his contract relating to compensation and the stage of the season, i.e. the compensation lowers if we are in the relegation zone after 10 matches. Highly unlikely but that's the stage that I'm at!

This situation really has driven us all round the bend hasn't it.

I have Palace as part of my weekend acca, was surprised the lads are 21/10. Probably to do with the last 6 head to heads.

I don't think the bookies have quite cottoned onto how bad we actually are yet if you look at the prices we've been in most games. I do think a lot of it is hinged on last season as well though where it was obvious we still had quality. We remind me a little bit of Solskjaer's Man Utd in that we can be rubbish but still win a game off pure individual quality.

I tend to think Palace play some decent stuff but have a bit of a brainfart in them themselves. Are you not also quite bad for set pieces and late goals?

Last season we were terrible at defending set pieces, I think second worst in the league after yourselves. Both last season and this late goals have been a constant issue. Brentford recently got an undeserved point, Chelsea took all three with a last gasp Conor Gallagher goal.

Before Rodgers I always saw Leicester as a good team to play against as we were regularly picking up points, he's a bit of a bogey manager to us, I don't think we've ever beaten one of his teams which is shocking.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to Friday night in Leicester and the game before the trip back home to Hampshire, hopefully it'll be an entertaining match with plenty of incidents to talk about.

If we lose everyone must stay behind and let the club know for a good 30 mins what the feeling to Rodgers is. 20,000 people chanting should do it. Bit harder if we win, but...

I’d change it up completely but I guarantee he won’t play this team -

because he’s a moron.

                Iversen

          Faes Evans Syoncu

Castagne   N’didi   Soumare Justin

                  Maddison

              Ihenacho Daka

Either way, whilst he is in charge we’ll lose. But at least if we try something different we might get some positives.

You had that beautiful 3-3 draw though which was a legendary game :D

If you don't pick up 3 points this weekend then Viera has had a mare. Hope you have an enjoyable trip up and honestly, I hope you smash us and put an end to the Rodgers nightmare lol

Could be as iconic as our fans at Palace away the year we won the Prem. Didn't leave for about 20 mins non stop chanting.

Put some super glue on every seat as a pretend TIFO. Then we'll be forced to stay and get irate.

Lol. Imagine the fans response on here after that line ups announced…

”ffs if he wants sacking he’s going the right way about it. Replace Tielemans, KDH and Barnes for soumare, nacho and soyuncu, tw@t”

Phew, no worries then. We're gonna reset and everything will be fine. It's good to hear the manager saying something different.

I mean the rebuild of the mentality and culture of the club went so well over the summer who are we to question him when it comes to a reset?

What's he gonna do get his ballpoint pen and hold the button down for 10 seconds?

Go on any jounos reading, ask him how the rebuild of mentality and culture (His culture) went during the summer? Ask him what a reset actually means? Ask him some tough questions and push him on what he actual means rather than him coming out with buzzwords and phrases. Dare ya.

When is presser day/time by the way? I imagine he'll be one of the earliest given we're the first/early KO.

As far as i'm concerned any rebuild of mentality and culture - rebuild, period, starts with him going, as does any reset.

You look at their attacking players and it's like krynopite to our defence. Throw a couple of big centre halves capable scoring off a set piece. Likely to be bullied in midfield as well.

Yet Palace could have a bad day and none of that happens - but then they just know we will make some sort of error during the game which they can take advantage of.

Oh god no, not krynopite... Th... Th... Thats ever worser than KRYPTONITE! 🤣

Or opposition fans.

The set piece thing is a running joke but no-one seems to realise the poor form that's come from it. Aside from the league win, people have got used to us being there or thereabouts and until you point out the crap points return over the year or points dropped from winning positions, they all just think wanting Rodgers out is a kneejerk 8 game response.

It's really concerning when the upper hierarchy have such low standards. At least if it's the manager then he can be replaced. The owner can't be replaced unless he/they choose to be. So we're really at Top's mercy at the minute and it just looks very bleak. God help us this summer. When we lose Madders and Youri. Evans will be just about done. Vardy's done.

I was optimistic about being able to build a new spine but at the minute I'm just expecting us to put the final nail in our coffin and send us back down to the abyss of mid table championship football. The lack of leadership and direction of the club is appalling at the minute. No communication to the fans aside from little paragraph in the programme. Yet still people want to go and clap and smile and pretend everything is fine.

Fantastic post. Club is in the mud.
