I agree with you, and it's because he is a leader. Amartey and Ward look so much better in the last 4 or 5 games, Soumare the same, all because you've got a real leader in the back 4 marshaling it all together. Fofana is more technical and individually the better player. But in football the defence is all about being a unit. Fuchs / Morgan / Huth / Simpson on paper is not a Premier League winning back 4, but together, with Schmeichel behind them and Kante in front, as a unit they were fantastic.
