Nominally a 3-4-3 but we can go 5-4-1 when defending and if we can transition quickly on the break we can overload them with the full backs pushing up or tucking in to allow yt and kdh to operate higher up the pitch perhaps.

could be interesting. At least nobody can accuse BR of not trying something different. It could work well, or all end in tears.

When we have finally found some form, why on earth would you choose the most lethal team to play against to mix it up?

Why take the east route. Haha

Brendan saying he was knee sliding when he heard Haaland was out… and people believed (and lost their heads) that he really wanted Haaland playing.

Just goes to show how pointless press conference quotes are.

Thought Alvarez hat trick incoming when I heard him say that

We were very open against Wolves, do that against City and we are in trouble.

Of all the teams to play 3 CB’s against, Brendan plays it against a Pep Side.

3 CB’s are a good idea against a team that plays two fixed strikers. Bloody basics!

Of all the teams to only play 2 midfielders in the middle, he does that against a Pep side too! Baffling.

Hopefully we somehow avoid a massacre.

We've beaten Man City before playing this formation...

Justin was a nightmare leaving space for Adama last weekend. A better team could have destroyed us with those opportunities.

Them without Halland will keep the score down to 1-5. I am praying to the God's I will be wrong and we somehow get a point.

Man City play it in the middle side-to-side all the time when opposition teams stifle the wide areas and stop balls being played into the corners and occasionally over the top. Having a back 5 makes sense and why waste a DM when its a free hit against the best playmaking team in the country. Out playmaking is just as good when we get the team set up well and imo in order to do that we need more playmakers.

Cags is great at breaking through opponents midfield and carrying the ball, as is faus. That's the link from defence to attack imo.

This might age poorly but graelish + Bernardo Silva on the wings for city doesnt offer much of a goal threat (relative to man city's usual standards). Might be a bit of an oversight from pep

He’s an arsehole in general. Why would he be different in this interview? Don’t have BT Sport, what has he done?

He's a bit like that in a few of his pre match interviews. Probably doesnt like doing them.

Haaland out is a big help to us, not surprised Brendan has gone with3 at the back again, so not really surprised that Soyuncu has got the start because there is no one else unless he wants to put Ndidi in there.

We have a chance here if we are up for it and Vardy thrives on these sort of games, his record of scoring against big 6 sides is well known about!
