Lads, anyone any details on the clubs trip to Abu Dhabi?

I live there now and would love to watch the team train or play a friendly.

Any information welcome

Make sure they hide the fire extinguishers, any nubile ladies, and lock up the casinos!

No taxi drivers are safe from Evans.

Don’t! I fancy a repeat of 2016.

Although they’d probably be beheaded if they did in Abu Dhabi what they did in Bangkok.

Hope that's helped.

As far as I’m aware it’s a training camp, then behind closed doors friendlies at Seagrave upon return.

We’ve not heard who we’re playing, etc.

The first official game back will be MK Dons on the 20th December. So a little over 3 weeks away. I’d guess the non World Cup players might meet next week in Abu Dahbi, after having a few weeks off. You’re more likely to get news on the ground I’d have thought, as most of the sports coverage will be focussed on the World Cup.

Makes sense, anyone eliminated early can hop over to Abu Dhabi and join the group.

I assume that's the plan but how long are we out there for?  the groups finish friday so surely anyone eliminated would expect at least a week off before joining up with the squad ??

Why a week off?

Played the same amount of games in the same space of time as they would have done if it was a regular season.

I'm sure the training camp will be a good balance anyway, probably two hours training and then golf lol

A day or two off sure, but no need for the usual post world cup break for anyone out at the group stage IMO.

I'd be all for players having a decent 7 day break after elimination. They've been training whilst non WC players have been resting legs on hols, plus the mental switch off will benefit us more in the long run than rinsing a player

I am all for giving the WC guys out early a week off -- there is supposed to be a winter break built into the season to freshen legs, after all! My concern is for anyone who gets deeper in the tournament, where a week off cuts into the season.
