I must have been massively overestimating the average ability of a championship footballer  If he's getting good reviews then should mean we can make a good few million selling him in the summer.

I could quote a number of posters who said he should be in the England squad a few years ago. People on here change their minds every day. He does what he does and does it pretty well in my view.

I would sell him as the manager and fans dont rate him, which is a difficult environment for a player to do well in. Dont be surprised if he looks like a decent PL player at watford if they get promoted or elsewhere

Depends what you need from a DM, Rodgers wants whoever is there who is comfortable receiving and progressing the ball, hence why we're seen a decline in Ndidi.

yep, that’s just us. I’m personally terrified of what happens on here when Tete has one of his off games.

He is no world-beater, but he can be a good Championship player or a lower-end PL player, his issue has been not playing enough minute to develop 

 

It is a risky tactic but seems to be working with a bit of luck we get a 5m+ fee or at worse, we get a more rounded player back due to playing 40+ league games.

 

Personally, I would happily see Mendy, Soumare, Hamza move on.

 

I'd put Ndidi on that list as well if his form doesn't pick up in the next 6 months.

Unless Rodgers changes the way in which he wants the player in defensive mid to play, it wouldn't make a difference having Hamza in that role

Hamza is playing at a level where he can influence a game. He is tough and combatative and intimidates players. He doesn't have the sharp brain of a top CDM but not many do. He is probably enjoying his football right now which wouldn't be the case with us.

I said it when he first came into the squad... that if he progressed and developed he could move into that role.... now of course... this was before the emergence of Declan Rice... at the time it was people like Jake Livermore and Eric Dier playing in the DM role for England.

Very good for a top Championship club. Decent if used to his strengths--a defensive only midfielder--at the lower end of the Premier League. I'd love to see him improve his posession and passing game and get into the side, but I can't see it. I wish him all the best. I hope he goes up with Watford.

What is Watford’s buy option - £6m? Hopefully they activate it and it’s a small increase to the summer budget.

 

I like Hamza, but he’s not going to play if he comes back here. Best for him to get regular football now and hopefully work his way back up to the PL.

Its a very difficult hole to fill CDM. Ndidi had a couple of seasons of top class play but is on the slide. Mendy is reliable but too short. We talk about losing Youri and James but finding someone for this role is going to be just as difficult.

In the same way Mendy isn't a starter but is used when we want to keep the ball, Hamza could be used in a similar but in his case play when we need to tackle and intercept (FA Cup win comes to mind). But I think we have more of a need for someone with a great ability to keep hold of the ball rather than tackle and intercept. I reckon a few lower Prem clubs wouldn't mind having great tackler and interceptor to bring on occasionally if not play in the defensive only position regularly.

His pass completion is better than quite a few of our current squad although not looked lately but it was as low the 60+ earlier this season.

 

Can he take a successful thrown we're desperate for someone who can.

He's started like 30 games across 5 seasons at this level between the ages of 19 and 24, and ok he's not looked amazing but he's been ok and he's young, I'm just glad you weren't in charge of deciding whether most of our team was good enough for the Premier League in the summer of 2015.
