He's started like 30 games across 5 seasons at this level between the ages of 19 and 24, and ok he's not looked amazing but he's been ok and he's young, I'm just glad you weren't in charge of deciding whether most of our team was good enough for the Premier League in the summer of 2015.

I'm glad too

In the same way Mendy isn't a starter but is used when we want to keep the ball, Hamza could be used in a similar but in his case play when we need to tackle and intercept (FA Cup win comes to mind). But I think we have more of a need for someone with a great ability to keep hold of the ball rather than tackle and intercept. I reckon a few lower Prem clubs wouldn't mind having great tackler and interceptor to bring on occasionally if not play in the defensive only position regularly.

This is key. When we are 1 or 2 up and we are relatively controlling the game, mendy is perfect. Comes on, holds the ball well and helps us control the game. But when we are in a situation where we are out of control... we need someone to come on and win the ball , battle and give us a bit of steel. This is when we need a Hamza or wilf type. Thats why sangare is so perfect for us... he taps into both of those as well as being able to carry the ball.

The thing that weve got wrong alot, is over estimating opponent's.  You dont need a wilf or hamza at home to southampton, thats a game where a mendy is much more preferable. But when we play against someone who will likely have more or equal possession  or even someone with a dangerous player in the hole... that enforcer is relevant.  As bad as Puel was, one thing he did well, was operate against the big sides (at the start at least) He only seemed to use hamza in these games and for the most part it was really effective!

If you were playing against us for example.... even if you were a superior side... youd be foolish to not have an enforcer in the hole... because if you stop maddison or make his life hard, the team loses its best asset for creativity and goals.  Im probably not far from being told I have a vendetta against wilf but thats because I miss him. The old wilf is gone, the club needs to accept that so we can move forward.

I think he's found his level as a decent Championship player.  Good luck to him.

Yep, he would never have got a look in here over Soumare.

Exactly someone we'll need after we find our level come the end of the season...

Be a lot of calls for him to be our Player of the Season.

Probably won't be as most will vote for Perdo but certainly be keen to sign him.

Unlikely though as we probably not going up and so won't afford to pay the  6 million fee agree

Sometimes…a returning player can show he has learnt and brought something new or shevelled & honed  into his game..

At present where would I rate him, and who slips down..

Soumare slips off the map..

Ndidi..not yet in front of Choudhury, but shown  slowly Hes getting there..

Mendy is my midfield star, this season at least no competition…

could we offer Chouds more than Watford, I really don’t know..

Would I be looking for an improvement and quality push, ext season than all those 4, definitely!!

Though Ndidi could find and rekindle. his old self..his injury path and history were bloody hard..

That POTM reel is actually better than any of those YouTube skills videos of any of the players we’ve been linked with.

No. Just… No

We could do with him back now to show our players how to put in a solid tackle, to actually want to win the ball.

Stop it.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that we might be looking at a Mendy, Choudhury, Dewsbury-Hall midfield next season with Soumare and an out of form Ndidi in the wings.

That's up there with Scream, Halloween and 'It' in the horror movie department.

I just became more anti Rodgers after reading this

Has Ndidi been better than Hamza recently?  He gets a lot of stick from some on here, but at this moment in time, he's better than some at the club!  I still think he could be an OK prem player, not a world-beater, but good enough for the bottom half......just where we are at the moment.

He is playing in the championship you can’t compare, what I can say is Hamza is NOT the answer to our prayers

Nah. Sounds great. Promotion worthy.
