legend, always a 7/8 out of ten always putting in the work a real team player ,  not the flashy type just solid and great crosser of the ball , but you need people like him , the kind of guy you would want in the trenches with you.   Best of luck Kevin  , people will stand up clap you at the start of the game when you come back even if your playing for west brom

He will always be a champion in my eyes , he would have to be one of the best pro football players as he gave his all every time he pulled on our shirt . In saying that I think he wanted to play more football as he doesn’t have many years left , his pace has gone but not the drive and commitment, best of luck Marc

You can understand why he would be pissed off not getting league games, Ricardo out and hardly a decent right mid or winger in the team over the last 5 months.

Glad the club respected his wishes, he has earned it.

It hurt reading the thread title:cry:

But there is no room for sentiment.

We have lost our former captain, vice captain and stand in captain will leave this summer....

Wheres that crazy stat thread??

A lot of you have to stop living in the past. He's a great guy and a model pro but you don't get prizes for trying, he's not the player he once was.

Thanks Marc, but we go on

I think there may be a good few thousand plus who respect him for 'trying'.

There was a time when players like him and Kasper - real club heroes - would have been given a proper goodbye by the club. Hate to see players as important as Albrighton - f****d off in the last knockings of the transfer window - the club has lost all its class…good luck MA - thanks for everything…

The club hasn’t lost it class. This wasn’t their decision. Sounds like this came from Kevin, shows the respect that the club has for him to grant his wish. Would have thought that the club had a replacement, or it could have been noted sooner. But not lost it class

It’s such sad news, though. Albrighton has gained so much respect that can never be taken away. He’s what we want from every footballer- professional, positive attitude and 100% work rate.

Strange emotions on this - a player for the ages, yet I am not in favour of hanging on with sentiment. So although there is an element of risk in this, and it IS difficult seeing him go, I think this is healthier for all parties in the long run.

He will always be a legend at Leicester but as much as it pains me to say it, he just isn’t good enough at this level anymore.

He will get game time at West Brom which is what he needs at his age

It’s time unfortunately.

Similar to Kasper, large wages and be want the player he was.

Vardy will most likely go in the summer, those that are sentimental need to prepare for that. Also, Amartey still hasn’t signed a new deal, so all of the title winners could be gone.

In reality, most of the FA Cup winning team might be gone as well.

This one baffles me.

If Tete gets injured we are extremely thin in the right wing position not only that but Albrighton is a regular 7 out of 10 player when he plays.

Maybe Rodgers plans on using Ricardo as a make shift right winger on ocassions once he returns.

We’ve got options.

Maddison, Praet, Teté and Ricardo.

Daka played with Salzburg on the right as well when they had Haaland up top, if we’re really desperate.

Tete, maddison, preat all on the right, with Ricardo coming back in 3 or so weeks

Defence was a bigger problem than the wing ever was*. we'll be fine

I expect thats what General Custer said when he saw they were surrounded by Indians at the Battle of the little bighorn!

Yes, but with Albrighton gone and Perez, we’ve now got only Tete who can play on the right? Just seems a needless risk, given our injury record. And in a relegation battle season we’ve lost another model pro and part of the old guard…

On Saturday, we had Maddison and Praet both play there

Gutted to see him go, but the time is right especially if he wants to play 1st team football.

Reminds me of James Milner, absolute class and a wonderful professional who will likely be more of a loss around the dressing room/off the pitch than on it. Truth is he doesn’t get a sniff with Tete, Madders and Praet all ahead of him so it does make sense but given his great service to the club it is still rightly a sad day to see him move. Will always be a club legend and will be a massive gap to fill in the leadership group.

He's been one of my absolute favourite players of this era and it's a sad day to see him leave.  I hope he'll be back but won't hold by breath.

Always gave everything, had some real moments of quality too.  Will rank as one of the best free transfers of all time.

A model pro and his reasons for leaving demonstrate what a great man he is too.

Good luck to him.
