We have thread after thread about how shit this season has been, what's the worst performance under Rodgers, how awful Rodgers is as a human, heck I was even seeing discussions about getting away with killing Brendan and storing the body.

 

I really really did not need reminding that Peter ****ing Taylor existed right now.

Peter Taylor he's got that really annoying look about him like that neighbour everyone hates who washes his car every Sunday, complains that bushes are too high and religiously puts his bins out at the same time each week

There was a feature on him on our regional news ( Anglia), he really has tickets on himself. The feature was bigging up how many clubs he’s had…..you’ve had lots of clubs because you keep getting sacked from your job you muppet. The miracle is how he got taken on again and again.

For a slight bit of revisionist history, I've always been surprised by how people forget how many games there were left when he got sacked & how easy a ride Dave Bassett gets for having it just get worse instead of turning it around.

It's bit like Brian Little and Micky Adams both dived into non league yet both at success at Leicester. Remember seeing Brian Little at the Boro when he was managing Gainsborough Trinity, they lost 0-1! only 13 years prior he won the league cup with Villa.

Dave Bassett was a completely shit and uninspired appointment but that team he inherited was abysmal.

Dave Bassett was an awful manager, but there is nothing revisionist about PT’s contribution.

 

I’ve always said that if Peter Taylor had been given a specific brief to completely destroy an established Premier League club in the shortest timeframe possible - he’d have struggled to do a better job than he actually did.

Rodgers didn't put our club on life support with massive input needed to save it from death.

 

I mean, he may have done if he'd stayed much longer, but thankfully we'll never know. Taylor, on the other hand, did.
