He won the 'Golden Stud' in 2002 (award for the sexiest Belgian football player) :D

not a bad manager, just wasn't suitable. it concerns me we're doing the same

Bumped into Sousa 4 months ago in a random town in Italy just before he took his latest job lol

Nice guy, I asked him what happened whilst he was with us. He said it was to do with agents, which is why he got sacked so quickly. He also said he got offered a sporting director role by Vichai & Top apparently :dunno:

i haven't got the best of memories but we looked pretty bad in games, whether he over estimated our squads abilities i don't know, but he obviously knows his stuff

Hoefkins is fine with me, if only to give the hornier posters here a new flame in the post-Iborra era.

I've come to the conclusion that whoever we appoint is going to be utter meh. The club is in total disarray.

Just look at the pics posted, that's more than a meh :D

I'm really looking forward to how weird the next season is going to be.

They might pull it off, but I don't have much faith. time spin back to 2011.

It's all good.

Hoefkens has gone straight to 2/1 with Bet Victor. At that price I imagine more from the twitter link than any serious info or movement.

Always worth following the money but I don't think the bookies have a clue on us yet.

Hmmmm no Paulo I think it was probably losing 6-1 away at Pompey, plus numerous other horrendous results and performances that scuppered you.

The problem was he was attempting massive change in direction of football style from quite direct, to total football. He/we simply didn't have the players. It was basically an evolution in football, it seems the owners always had a vision of 'total' football.

It doesn’t have to be next week, could easily be the week after.

Let just appointment someone on the first day of the season then…

He played attacking football with Club Brugge, which is pretty normal if you have one of the best squads of the league.

He did an exeptional job in the Champions League by qualifiying for the round of 16 in a group with Porto, Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid.

If he gets the job I'm 99% sure Rik De Mil will join him as the new assistent manager.

Rik De Mil was linked to Celtic too. Seems like these guys are highly thought of in the game. 🤷‍♂️

Yep. Taking another week or so to recruit the right candidate, who would still be in place well before the players returned for pre-season, is EXACTLY the same as recruiting on the first day of the season.

..he was very influential in an advisory capacity!!!

He was the reason Pearson took off to Hull and he had, I would say, the biggest impact on Andy King"s career.

It would be good to have someone of his ilk in the DoF role at this moment.
