All I’m going to say is FFP feels a bit broken if it’s going after a relegation threatened team while City walk towards their 5th title in 6 years.

Oh my days.

We should also write a letter to the Premier League suggesting that it would be better if only one team gets relegated this season.  Or that winning the Premier League should make you immune from relegation for a period of 20 years, and this should be back dated to 2016.  Or that the mid season World Cup was so disruptive to our form that the whole season should be declared null and void.

Assuming we finish 19th which is most likely, even if Everton got points deductions and finished below us we’d be going down anyway, so it’s a moot point.

If the PL fine Everton, rather than a points deduction, then breaching FFP and the subsequent fine, just becomes a cost of doing business and FFP falls (further) apart. IF we have somehow managed to not fall foul of FFP, then I can understand why the club are unhappy, but it would also scream of being very naïve when other clubs are breaching the rules - despite not getting much farther ahead in the case of Everton. I personally wouldn't care if we did breach FFP, took a fine, but brought in better players. (As long as the club wasn't over indebted etc. etc.).

This place when Man City look like they overspent to win the league and finished above us when we missed out on Champions League, as if they wouldn't have been above us anyway: "RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE, KICK THEM OUT THE LEAGUE."

This place when Everton only escape relegation twice in a row because they vastly spend beyond FFP, when we COULDN'T reinforce the squad last summer because we did stick to FFP and we're going down as a result: "meh oh well it's our fault, sack the board, etc. "

The premier league will hear the case and likely impose a points deduction if Everton are guilty of deliberately misleading them and willfully ignoring undertakings given. If it’s more technical then will be a fine (most likely imo)

the case from the clubs is that the hearing should have been fast tracked and sanctions applied this season.  I doubt there is precedent for this and maybe this is why the clubs wouldn’t be able to take a case against the PL.  so the case is basically against Everton for ‘cheating’ and overspending which enables them to avoid relegation.  I just cannot see this sticking in a court.  Where is the evidence for this?  if they’ve breached the rules of the PL then the PL will sanction them. And if there are no rules for applying sanctions within a certain timescale then there is even less of a case

it’s nonsense imo (and I hope they’ve used a no win, no fee solicitor! 😂)

Why don’t the owner and the board members take some accountability for once? No they’d rather say they’ve been hard done by or unlucky to find ourselves in this position.

If you clowns had done your job properly months ago we’d be sitting out of the relegation zone with a half competent manager planning for another season in the EPL.

Exactly. This is just embarrassing.

They still can’t see this mess lays squarely with the club. Everton have spent on shit anyway so hardly gained an advantage!

I don’t mind seeing us lose or be relegated etc. But the way the club is being run is making me ashamed to say I’m a Leicester fan now :(

FFP is a load of bollocks anyway that financially hampers anyone getting near the top 6.  We have no leg to stand on with how shite our finances are in.

I would be embarrassed for the club if they were to sue, especially after what we did the season we went up from the Championship with regards to FFP.

We need imo to accept the fact we are getting relegated because of our own failures.  We should be no where near where we are.  Looking for some one or something else to blame is deflecting and nothing more.

Hum... a little hypocritical of us to think about doing something like this after what we got away with in 2002.

Have you ever had a decent take?

Forgetting the impact on us, and this law suit for a moment.

If Everton or Man City are found guilty there needs to be a fitting punishment, not just a slap on the wrist or a fee you can pay to cheat.

If the PL is serious about having a fair and just competition then deducting points or relegation for teams is the only option.

So many smaller teams in the football league are routinely hit with big points deductions, yet the big money boys continue to spend.

On this case it’s an interesting one, made more interesting by the fact we publicly stated at the start of the season we will not spend due to us making sure we fall in line with FFP, so the fact that Everton continued to spend does mean they were given a competitive edge over us, that, if we were to finish 18th and then 17th could be argued did cost us a huge amount of money - it would certainly be an interesting case worth following.

I personally think we probably have a bigger case over Man City for the two years we finished 5th when they blatantly cheated, were band then the powers to be shat themselves.

FFP actually makes this even harder, not easier!

@Finnegan and @Chocolate Teapot you don't actually rate this do you?

I remember our very legitimate sponsorship deal with Trestellar, the well known Sheffield based company.

What do you mean rate it? I don't think it'll go anywhere if that's what you mean no.

But I absolutely do believe that the Premier League should throw the book at Everton and that every club relegated this year AND last year should be demanding compensation from them.

Their spend is absolutely bonkers.
