Claudio Ranieri promoted Cagliari to Serie A with a 94 minute winner against Bari.
After the final whistle he immediately burst into tears.
▶ In 1988, at the age of 36, Claudio Ranieri took Cagliari and in just two seasons took them to Serie A.
▶ Now in 2023, at the age of 71, took Cagliari from 14th place in Serie B to promotion in Serie A.
Legendary coach and a good person being. ❤️

I dont care about the whole "it was pearsons hard work" etc etc

 

Bloke is an absolute legend and if we had someone with even a fraction of his passion & love for the club, we won't go far wrong.

 

Such a genuine lovely person and so happy for him.

He, as much as the team, made that season. His sayings, his behaviour and his conduct. This besides the tactics and his use of players to the best of their abilities. I'm so happy that things are seemingly going well for him. Still worthy of a statue imo. A special time of our lives for which I'll always be grateful.

Would love the KP to have more statues/murals around the ground to give a bit of character and a sense of history.

That season he managed us about as perfectly as a manager can. Tactics, team selection, man management, psychology. Everything. The 'just happy to stay up / qualify for Europe / get Champions League' stuff was perfect, and helped us massively.

Cant help but love Claudio. Aside from him always being a legend for the title win, he's a genuinely lovely bloke. 

 

Hes not what we'd need as a manager now but I'd love to see him back at LCFC in some capacity, even if its just to come out and smile at the fans before home games. 

 

Could actually be a good tactic that. If Top and Rudkin carry on running the club into the ground, everytime the fans start to get angry just bring Claudio out.

It’s a shame they got rid  of the posters/ banners of former players. It had a nod to our history over the years, Elliot & O’Neil holding the league cup, Walsh celebrating the winner against Derby etc

Yeah, even the banner reads King Power Est 1884 as the Leicester City FC is behind each scoreboard. So just the Badge breaks up the flow of the banner.

I can think of 3 that didn't 

Frank McClintock 

David Pleat

Peter Taylor 

 

Then one that totally fvcked it up in the end.

Brendan Rodgers.

 

Perhaps

 

People appointed to manage us (but some didn't)

 

Would be a better title.

I really like Micky Adams, to think he achieved promotion with the financial problems off the field was quite an achievement, playing some good football. Once promoted though, he had to come to terms in having the small budget and the oldest squad in the premier league. I do think if he had few extra funds to boost the squad more he could have kept us up. It's a shame his career never took off after Leicester.

I still contend that a massive golden statue of NFP should be erected over the ground with his feet planted either side of the east and west stands. Something so huge that it could be seen from space and the autumnal shadow stretch to Thurnby. Standing throttling a wolf in one hand and clutching a tiny Mahrez to his breast.

 

If that doesn't inspire the team to play better - nothing will.

I think that's better suited to the basin of the toilet. Add Peter Taylor and Dennis Wise to the mix and there will be people queuing up to take a dump (yes, I know that's already the case before anyone points out the obvious).
