Pushing for a move to Forest. What an absolute gimp. Good riddance!

Wilf is not the sharpest tool especially now we got a technical manager that into the details, Wilf is found wanting , he might do very well at forest who knows.  All I would say is good luck and thank you.

...Maresca seems to like what he gave us in a role totally alien to him!!!

His finishing and ability to pass consistently well were his weakest points. His timing of runs and positions that he took up were high quality, just not the quality creatively to enhance an end product.

Shame it’s Forest he’s going to, but the Wilf we all know and love deserves to be playing Premier League football.

I don’t subscribe to the idea that “his best years are behind him” at all, he just needs a bit of form, confidence and and arm round him. But that being said I don’t think he’s ever going to find that again here whilst Enzo is here. Isn’t trusted in possession enough to play in a deeper midfield role and the advanced role just really isn’t working.

Go well Wilf 🫡

Both the Chair and Cairney rumours/links started early doors, even before Enzo was on board, so I doubt they are true

We were working on the Coady deal from before Enzo was on board too so I wouldn’t let that timing determine whether or not a link is valid.

However, I do think a lot of the Chair reports are simply down to him being a signing that seems to make sense after losing Maddison rather than us actively pursuing him.

Far from it I think. Rodgers once said he was very settled in the midlands and doing business qualifications. Wimsey pointed out the rumour there had been personal issues that isn’t fair drilling into. He could just be trying to do the best for his family. Can you imagine how crap it would be for someone like him to end up in Turkey. He has been happy to be that square peg since Enzo took over. I presume he and the manager have spoken about this and Wilf is well aware that he is going to end up down the pecking order, and his core skills aren’t going to be needed this season. He’s done his bit. We should be happy he can now move on.

I love the good years he gave us. We’ve bumped into him a few times at the KP and he’s always been a lovely bloke. But it’s time, and I really think people need to not worry about it being forest. We only need to care about forest if we get promoted and they don’t get relegated. Baring in mind the transfer fee, his position in the squad, and the fact we have to rebuild, that’s too many ifs for me to care about right now.

Thanks for the good times Wilf. And thanks again for helping Enzo start his rebuild. I hope you can put those issues behind you and enjoy the next part of your career.

On a separate note, i think Forest are screwed with or without him.

What made me fall out with Wilf as a leicester player the past season or 2, wasn't his lack of ability at passing the ball, or not hitting the back of the net when a sitter presented itself to him, it was his complete lack of effort on the pitch. He was as guilty, if not more so than tielemens, jogging back when we lost the ball, even when he lost it. just been looking back at our game last season against Man City when he turned his back on a shot for their 1st, gave a stupid handball for their 2nd, and dwelled on the ball to lose it then jogged back for their 3rd. He was guilty of this too many times, and as a highly paid player, it's a bit annoying.

A 50m player 2 seasons ago, but another that has regressed and unrecognisable- less than 12 months means anything north of 7m is good business - casadei will replace him and won’t be missed going forward

Is Chair even a cm/play in number 8 position ??

He's in between a wide man and an attacking midfielder. Maddison in terms of positioning (IE drifting around) is a good way to think about him, but from the left not the right.

Chair's decent but a tad overrated IMO. I think between the two new attacking players we have, plus McAteer, Praet, KDH and Casadei we might not need another player yet. We could wait until January and save it to sign a player IF we need them. But he's definitely a good player who would probably be able to play for anyone in this division. Probably around a similar skill level and age to Mavididi.

But I suppose a player that can play as either a winger or attacking midfielder would still be useful. Look at McAteer and Praet, they have been used both out wide and centrally.

Albrighton?

That's 6 players for 2 positions. If Albrighton goes, that's still 5. That's why I think we might stick rather than twist. But I suppose it depends on if Wanya falls out with Enzo again this week lol

Also Sammy Braybrooke and Will Alves might get games this season too. And that's one reason why I hope we don't go crazy with signings. Kasey McAteer I hope gets 20 starts at least this season based on his pre-season and early competitive games. Look at the passion he showed on Saturday. Players that have been at the club a long time care about it and aren't just mercenaries. This season we can give some of these young guns a chance, within reason.

But I do understand the argument of signing proven good players too.
