FrankieADZ Posted 23 June 2023 Posted 23 June 2023 tho if Forest do want Nacho, give us Josh Bowler and Lewis O'Brien in return

LCFCJohn Posted 23 June 2023 Posted 23 June 2023 Absolutely should not be sold to Forest if he is to be sold. He would instantly go in and be their best player so we cannot strengthen them like that!

I really don't see the problem. They had a number on loan, and a good number coming to the end of their contracts during their promotion season, so they had a massive turnover. Not to mention the squad they had been left with was pants. I think they handled it well tbf. Press jumped all over it, but you have to say, what they did worked! and how they stood by Steve Cooper.

westernpark Posted 23 June 2023 Posted 23 June 2023 He’s our best striker but if he won’t sign a new deal then we sell him. However, I hope it won’t be to Forest, as I would want him to do well somewhere.

studentofthegame Posted 23 June 2023 Posted 23 June 2023 Would actually rather keep him and lose him for free than sell him to them 2

Maybe the situation is not as serious, maybe getting rid of the free agents has helped the wage bill. I'd say we do, but that doesn't mean it's either true or that the club think that's the right decision this summer. I think there's a chance we gamble by not clearing the decks / re-invest everything we generate. Looking at it from guesstimated finances though and I'm also very mindful of our past FFP issues with the EFL, I don't want us to lose anymore money on players running their contracts down. Our wage bill the last we heard was approaching £200m a year, it's been said that relegation wage reflections are around 35-40%, so that takes it down to £130m, less the wages of those who've gone on frees might bring it down to near £100m. That's still obscene and we need as it stands 5-6 new players. I would like to see any player with less than 2 years on their contract bar Vardy sold, plus I'd cash in on several others. A lot of these players, the malaise has set in and I'm not even sure a new regime here is enough for them to recover. They need to go, I'm sick of them and the wages they've been given. Get back to signing young and unproven players whom the wage structure can be linked to achievements rather than all being given about 75k a week from the off. It also protects us if we don't come up straight the way. 8
Dan Posted 23 June 2023 Posted 23 June 2023 This was my biggest fear. Would be absolutely sickening. Had a feeling this would become a thing. 1

ARM1968 Posted 23 June 2023 Posted 23 June 2023 Nacho would fire us back to the Premier League 100%. Absolute lunacy to sell the guy. Get him on a new contract. 4
studentofthegame Posted 23 June 2023 Posted 23 June 2023 2 minutes ago, Dahnsouff said: Can I ask why? It does not sound sensible, but perhaps there is a valid reason? Because he will absolutely demolish the Championship and getting promoted year 1 is more valuable than the 15 mil or whatever we would end up getting for him Also **** forest 4
Jakemoore Posted 23 June 2023 Posted 23 June 2023 This article is SO badly written that it simply has to be BS. Kelz loves the club and should stay and lead the line! He would absolutely smash the championship to pieces! 1
Ric Flair Posted 23 June 2023 Posted 23 June 2023 There's got to be something wrong with him if he'd want to stay here. He's been treated like a piece of shit for the majority of the 6 seasons he's been here. I'd love him to sign a new deal and properly build a team around him but my suspicions are he's ready to go somewhere where he's truly valued as a key player, that being said I'm not sure that's Forest. Don't care who it is though if we get £15-20m. 1
jonny_wright Posted 23 June 2023 Posted 23 June 2023 I am in the camp that any player with a year left and won’t sign a new deal needs to leave! 3

We need players like nacho to get us back up and it'd probably cost us more to replace him. As a relegated team, you get one chance to get back into the prem without the financial hit, after that you're fvcked.
suffolk fox Posted 23 June 2023 Posted 23 June 2023 1 hour ago, Qwerty said: Hang on, am I reading this correctly? The article says he joined us from Forest in 2017. I thought he came from Man City? He did come from Man City and they had a buyback clause written in his contract so the article is click bait.
Haywood_6 Posted 23 June 2023 Posted 23 June 2023 We should be doing everything to keep Nacho. If he stays he'll be one of the top scorers in the Championship. I'll be gutted if he's sold.
Leicesterpool Posted 23 June 2023 Posted 23 June 2023 Nacho I think can be tempted to stay, the guy was the only one to show real emotion when were we relegated. I think though he wants to be starting regular. As last year he spent most of the time coming off the bench, him, vardy and another new striker would be awesome. 1

Get it done if he wants to go. But who do we replace them with and do you trust the club to get it right? Nacho is easily good for 20 goals in the championship. Is that such an easy thing to replace? Likewise with Barnes who would easily hit over 20 goal contributions. We’ve already lost so many on a free and if we can keep a few of the better performers this season then I think we will have a shot at bouncing back. Replacing almost everyone other than the ones which no one else wants is bad business imo. We will be left to build the team around Daka, Soumare, Vestergaard and Faes.
