It will be a busy summer of transfers for Leicester City this season, with a squad rebuild at the top of the agenda ahead of the Championship season.

New manager Enzo Maresca will be heavily involved in the search for new players, while others will be heading for the exit door. The number of new signings could eventually reach double figures as Leicester look to get back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

But who are the men responsible for finding and signing City players? There is a large team of scouts and recruiters at the club, all working hard behind the scenes in the summer transfer market. Below is a look at many of the key names.

Responsibility for scouting and recruitment ultimately lies at the door of director of football Jon Rudkin . The Leicester-born sporting chief played for the club as a teenager and has been on the academy payroll since the 1990s. He worked his way from from a coach to academy director, before being promoted to director of football in December 2014.

Reporting directly to Rudkin is City's head of recruitment Martyn Glover . The experienced, well-connected scout joined City from Southampton last September. He also has experience working for Blackburn, West Ham, Leeds, Sunderland and Everton. His first transfer window, this past January, saw the club sign Victor Kristiansen, Harry Souttar and Tete.

A big part of scouting these days is watching games on video and analysing the footage to create reports. That responsibility falls to the technical scouting department, headed up by Callum Smithson . He has worked at the club for eight years, starting out as a technical scout in 2015. He was promoted to head of department four years later. Smithson works alongside technical scouts Adam Fox and Henry Brown .

Glover also oversees a small team of domestic scouts, including former City defender Sean St. Ledger . Other experienced operators in the department include David Mills , Ian Marshall (not the former City player) and David Wright .

City also have a handful of scouts based across the globe. They include France-based Jean-Paul Kalala , a former Football League midfielder, and ex-Man City talent spotter Pablo Jacomuzzi .

Never knew Sean St Ledger was a scout for us

Been in position since pretending he’d shagged Taylor swift… keeping a low profile I imagine.

Sounds like an entry in Roger Mellie’s Profanisaurus to describe the act of having a bloody good tug in a hot tub
